... I remember the "Bates 4000" skit in "The Onion movie" based on the Onion News Network. The poor bastard leaves the computer store with a Bates 4000 and when he gets home he hears on the radio, "and introducing the Bates 5000! Your Bates 4000 is a piece of mess!". This goes on and on, to the point that he barely leaves the store parking lot and hears that his computer is obsolete.
So let me get this straight, don't buy an Apple product because Apple keeps making better products all the time? Wow. It's not like an iPhone stops working when a new one comes out. My wife is still happily using her 1st gen iPhone.
I had a friend when I was a kid that was jealous that I had an NES. He saved and saved until he could finally buy one, but then the SNES came out a few months later. That's technology for ya!

You know what's even more funny then this comic......
Watching you get all riled up every time someone says apple sucks, .

Apple does suck, just not for the reasons people keep saying here.

Well, after having my hard drive replaced on my PC yesterday, I had to endure using Internet Explorer for one day until I re-install Safari.
Although I am not a fan of Apple's hype and so forth, I must say, their web browser is WAY easier to work with. I hate having all kinds of mess on the toolbar with IE.
Apple does stupid mess like no removable memory and no removable battery on their phone. Obviously iy is part of their revenue earning strategy but it sucks that a company that thinks of everything, does it really well, obviously makes a point of making certain omissions knowing damn well the will nick you later due to a product malfunction or peoples need to expand.
How do you think these dudes must of felt when the next gen of super computer hit the scene? Not that I am comparing Apple to a super computer but can you image the billions invested and lead times to deliver? The thing probably powered up while the next gen was being made available.
Apple analogy: this quarter Malibu Barbie, next quarter Beach Ball Barbie. End of the day it's still Barbie.
Closed app ecosystem on the iPhone. They should allow an unregulated "jailbreak" mechanism.
As has been stated, no removable battery. Rejecting certain cool apps. Not supporting wi-fi syncing (I can do that with a jailbreak app at least). Cannot share 3G internet from my iPhone with my iPad (again, can be done with a jailbreak app). Some of their products are missing key items (like the mac mini doesn't come with a keyboard or even a remote).
I guess maybe they don't "suck" but they definitely aren't perfect.

Why I will never buy another Apple product- I recently bought an IPOD (like every other sucker on the planet) I tried to drag and drop files onto the thing but apparently apple hasn't invented that technology yet. I eventually relented and installed the Itunes virus on my computer. Had to go to the Apple web page to figure out how the damn thing worked, Itunes must have the most convoluted system for moving files around, I eventually relented and moved everything I wanted on my Ipod into a folder (Is that fucked or what?) Also, It dosen't play anything other than MP3s and Apple's proprietery format, and attempts to convert all non mp3 files to apple format so you can never use them on anything else ever again. WTF? Some of the pictures I put on there still don't show up. I was told that the brilliant thing about Ipod's is their ability to play music like a virtual DJ, sounds easy until you actually try to use it, apparently you have to sign up with Apple first, so it can upload a list of all your mp3's to Apple. I had nightmares just thinking about that. Hi Steve this is Tim's computer, I've been looking through his MP3's and they are all download and I was wondering if you had the phone number for the RIAA.......... Oh- And why the hell would I want to know what the F#@*#@# weather is like in F#@*#@# Cupertino, does anyone know how I can get rid of that? I should have saved $50 and bought a PC notebook instead. Tim
Got it. Media player with lots of shortcomings and all kinds of BS strings attached... but you can brag about owning one to your friends. Glad we cleared that one up.
This is EXACTLY what i love about pins. All this other sh!t will be worth didlely in a 6 months time, and I could care less about any of it, but the pins will keep their value, and likely increase.
I dread the days when my company sends me another phone to upgrade too.

But despite these shortcomings it's still by far the best smart phone out there. That says something.

You couldn't give me one for free. I don't like the notion of corporate big brother keeping tabs on necro's music collection let alone any of my other interests or spending habits.
Call me paranoid but I wouldn't be half surprised to find Safari dials home telling the mothership precisely what good old Warren is looking at. It's the Apple philosophy, control.
The whole process of connecting your computer hardwired to your home theatre system is under change. If you look at DLNA and Sibeam which are new to the market your screen need not be connected to your laptop. Media is streamed wirelessly to tv's that support the technology. Basically it reduces your hardware requirement to working directly off the laptop wherever it may be in you home. No need to have wireless keyboards, HDMI connections etc. if your able to transmit from the laptop itself.
Right now I use the XBox360 as a media streamer through Media Centre but in the near future streamers will be incorporated in TV's. The same thing can currently be done with a hardware streamer like this one.
Apple with it's strong licensing policies will likely miss the mark with the new technology by 5 years. Once they have been able to figure out how to exercise control over it and force you to purchase content from them, they will re-brand it as the new version of sliced bread and tell you how innovative Apple is to include the feature. My guess is it will be packaged in white initially with color options forthcoming down the road once white is no longer in vogue to possess.

Disagree! I have an iPhone and have learned that I can live without 99.9% of the apps. However, since I surf with it a lot, I cannot live without FLASH. Their preventing Flash from running on an iPhone is ridiculous!
I dont want to jailbreak my phone so when it fucks up they can tell me to f*** off.
My next phone will be the Blackberry Torch. It has everything I want; the whole front is a display for surfing, the option of using the slideout keypad and not having the whole display blocked while I type, removable memory and battery, and I can pin other Blackberry users and basically get text messaging for free.
I love how die hard iSupporters feel the need to defend the product line to justify the inflated prices they pay. Yes Apple products are good. Yes they are over priced.
Current Lineup: Black Knight, Riverboat Gambler, Ripley's Believe it or Not, Flintstones, Orbitor 1, Wipe Out, Breakshot, The Simpsons Pinball Party, Fish Tales, Eight Ball and a 60 in 1 Cocktail.

Yea I find that the be the funniest part, most apples users sound like they would be ready to take up arms for the apple revolution if Steve Jobs told them to.
News Flash Apple users, Apple doesn't give two shits about you, so why do you care so much about defending them? Your nothing more then a consumer heaping wads of cash in their direction and to think apple needs defending is just silly.

You don't get it, I'm defending myself against perceived personal attacks. You're talking like I'm a mindless zombie, so I try to prove that I'm not by justifying my purchase. I just shouldn't take the bait though.
Step 1) Say stupid mess about apple products and their users Step 2) Apple users defend their use of the products Step 3) Insult Apple users for defending their use of Apple products
This has been very productive!

I feel so unloved!
I have a 3g, and i love it. The ex always had blackberry, truth be told, i can't figure out 99% of all cell phones.
Build computers? no problem Build tube amps and repair guitars? no problem. Disassemble LCDs? all good.
FIgure out how to even ANSWER a blackberry? let alone dial a number?
never
I had a simple pay as you go phone and fought with it every minute i used it,
THe only reason i have an iphone is because I had an ipod touch and found it very intuitive. I am not an iphone crazy bastich or anything, I just like it. THe apps are good, for the most part, lots of helpful stuff for me. I don't surf on it, so the lack of flash has only been an issue once or twice.
But despite these shortcomings it's still by far the best smart phone out there. That says something.
In your opinion. Remember, they just added a camera and Wi-fi like what.. last year?
Apple products are a prime example of over-simplification.. which, to put it bluntly, means that Apple thinks their users are complete morons. I guarantee Apple R&D is trying like mad to make a product that has a single glowing button that reads your thoughts. But this of course means that you HAVE to keep up with the latest software for your device to work properly. My boss' wife just got the new iPhone 4. Unfortunately it doesn't work with OSX 10.4, only 10.5 and above, which means I had to install 10.5 on her laptop. Once done, her iPhoto didn't recognize any of her pictures on the drive anymore, because 10.5 has a stupid drive indexing flaw (WHY DO THEY USE DRIVE INDEXING?, which meant that I had to re-index the drive, and that took over an hour.
Thanks for making things so simple for us dumb-dumbs, Apple
I stopped using my iPod Touch a long time ago.. I prefer a device I can just drag and drop my music on (which in this case happens to be my Blackberry).
PS. Using the Apple touch screen keyboard is a REAL effin' treat.. "IIi typpped Rhis with my iPhonrr!!1"

I joined the Ipad club. Strangely enough, there's an astronomy connection too. One of the Apps (SkyVoyager) uses both the compass and accelerometer so that if I hold the IPAC towards a sector of the sky; it will tell me the stars/planets/etc I'm looking at and in turn, if I select a galaxy; it will help me find it using the same technique.
... and I can play "Angry Birds" too.. the most addictive "just one more try" puzzle game since Lemmings.
The Ipad may not be the best thing ever, but it's fun and surprisingly, better at what it does than I expected, I'm really happy to have picked one up I'm actually starting to enjoy surfing the net more using it (here comes the flash jokes ).

HAHAHAHAH!!!!
I love xtranormal!
I use it to make gay innuendo movies about my boss then mail it to him! (His initials and nickname is CBT, which we refer to as CockandBall Torture.... every video has him propsitioning young boys..... I need help)
I even watch Redeye clips to see their robot theatre bit.
In my defense of apple fandom, I didn't go looking for a 4g on launch day....
