I've been toying with taking a scrap (cosmeticly) pinball and adding my own artwork for years and maybe now is the time.

Has anyone out there done one and if so could you let us see the results and share any tips.

I'm thinking of making a one off backglass,  doing my own plafield plastics and making a printed vinyl overlay for the playfield.

I think I will leave the playfield layout more or less as is - As if I start fooling too much, I would have to spend alot of time in the testing phase.

My thoughts where to make it "my family" pinball (after the addams family) using photos cartoons of my family and our favourite things.

I have a Williams Space Mission that I've been keeping for this project (no backglass, cabinet painted, playfield ok)

Please share ideas, thoughts, tips or photos

Thanks
Barry

Looks like there will be two of us now doing this! I am picking up a free non-working Zaccaria Combat with no backglass and rough playfield. This pin is screaming for a conversion... I have a theme in mind, and I even asked Machine-Slave for some... toys. My playfield will be painted artwork... and it won't be very family oriented...

I had an old EM Quarterback that had no Backglass.....  so I hired a Airbrush Artist to re-create it on clear tempered glass.  It turned out 7/10 and only cost me $120.  I sold the game shortly after, since it bothered me it was only 7/10....other then that it was a GREAT EM game.

If you ever see one of these with an airbrushed galss... it was probably mine.

Basically what I am saysing, is it is VERY hard to do and even harder to have it look good.
