Can ' t remember the thread ' s title about drink holders , but someone and thanks to who ever he is , suggested those folding drink holders on sale at princess auto for $3.99 . We must ' ve been quite a few to go for it , since they were backorder . I got them last week and here are some infos and pics about it ;
The centre holes are for wood screw holes , so they have to be drilled in order to fit a leg bolt . Since it doesn ' t come in line with the leg hole , they have to be drilled in an oval shape , downwards . Also , the bottom platform has to be grooved for the socket to clear and screw the bolt .
The top bolt is kind of a drag to screw since the socket won ' t get in . I had to use a key and screw it in shots of quart a turn . If some of your pins , like some of mine , have 5/8 bolts , you ' ll have to switch on that one leg for the 9/16 size bolts . The 5/8 will be to big and won ' t get in . So , to those who got them babies , enjoy and ,

Not much money ... if you have a small collection. Some people could buy a classic Stern pinball for the same price as outfitting their entire collection
I'll take my .50 cent cup holders any day of the week over spending $4 per holder.
You ' re the one who came up with the drink holders ' s thread , right ? I liked the idea and actually looked in the local Canadian Pif Paf for it , but no chance . Then , underachiever came up with the folding model . Considering that i ' m at 6 pins and my max. , space wise , would be 7 , 7x4=$28.00 , OK with me .
Also , space wise , we have to pass between the pins in order to open a window or get to the backglasses and backbox , ratter frequent with ballys . That ' s the reason why i choosed the folding type . most of non-folding model would ' ve been in the way .
Anyway , thanks to everybody that had suggestions . So , everyone could choose the one that fits its needs ...
Great thread !!!

As for a classic stern , in my book , a decent one would cost at least $400 to $500 . So , at $4.00 a poppy , we ' re talking of a 100 pins collection . WOW !!! But i have to agree with you , 'cause if i had , lets say , a collection of 20 pins , I most likely would ' ve gone chasing for a more reasonable model ...

I was referring to pingulps. $9.95 US (Approx $11 Cdn).
10 pins (1 cup per game) - $110 20 pins - $220
plus tax, shipping etc...
I was thinking anyone with a 15+ games, it is a decent amount of money for some pieces of plastic. But then again... people pay hundreds for coloured plastics that they stick in their pinball machine that gets hit by flying metal balls?

I think the Pingulp holders are worth the price, I've caught my leg on a few that I have on my games ( moving between the games to get to the backbox etc ), I think the plastic ones would break off eventually. Especially with Claude's/Princess Auto style.... but I guess you could buy and install quite a few at that price and still not reach the cost of a Pingulp. I still perfer the Pingulp style - talk to me after a year or so and let me know how those plastic ones are holding up. I know the type Adam used are flexible, but plastic does eventually break, there's no way to get around it.
Both Adam and Claude still get points for ingeniuity in my book though...
You don't need one per machine, I'd say one for every 2 should cut it, that way you have a holder within arms reach of each machine

-The Getaway: High Speed II!! -Spider-Man -F-14 Tomcat -Guns N' Roses -Lord of the Rings -Twilight Zone
-Medieval Madness! -Indiana Jones (Williams) -Star Trek: The Next Generation -Champion Pub -Terminator 3 -Congo -Johnny Mnemonic -Tales of the Arabian Nights
I think you should have one on EVERY leg. I mean, what are you supposed to do if you go behind your machine to check something out and you have a drink in your hand ? Are you supposed to actually put it down first ? Come on !!!!
I find 2 per machine is just about right, especially when you have about 18 people over and no tables.
You know, you could just get a table

I for one have pingulps on the right hand leg of each of my pinball machines, and trust me, they are great. but they still take some time to teach everyone that they are there, i just politely tell people about the holders when they place their pop/beer on the glass and try to stop it from falling over.
They are really great, really well built, a little pricey, but they will last forever, they work good, and no one else has mentioned this yet, but they fit even the HUGE pop cops and stuff like that, not just one beer size, there's a smaller ring on the inside,
here's a vid of my new gamesroom, i think you can see the pingulps in it

Actually they're $14.95 Canadian locally (GST only when shipped to Ontario), or US$9.95 (but with the usual hassles with tax and brokerage). If one can afford them, they are the best solution available, bar none. But the cheapy Canadian tire ones do work, and can look "ok" if time and care is taken with the appropriate tools to make holes and cuts. They'll work until the lottery comes my way.

How about "SIX PACK HOLDERS" ? That would be great for Xmas parties !!!
