I'd say wait, and potentially skip SB.  Not that i have actually gotten around to going to one, but if you look on the CGCC site, Vidiot has a listing of auction prices from SB going back a few years.  Seems since the change of venue, things like project pins have gotten pretty scarce.  Fromthe people i have talked to, the prices for listing seem to be an issue.  THe next one should be bigger and potential for more pins, due to the pinball championship. but that same thing will drive the prices up as there will be more people in attendance.

GJD has listed that he is planning an auction potentially for the 26th... he also mentioned that there will be projects (including pins) there.

I already have my work cut out project wise (even with giving one of them to Sparky to do!!)  but i'd check there and the classifieds here and on CGCC.

Just my $0.02

Pins:  TMNT (visiting Sparky)
          Pinzilla (multipin project) (GOing to visit Terry!)

It will be mid-late October.  You can check the starburst site for the actual date.  Its the weekend of the tournament if that helps.  As far as the auction goes that weekend, bring your wallet.  Last year there was a big turnout and many of the bidders were spending.  In the last year I remember a really bad RFM that went for $800ish, Shadow $800ish and i believe a Dr Who for 750ish and it was working...with issues.

I went and looked at the items for auction for the previous 2 auctions and all I can say is - ughh. There was nothing there that seemed to grab me but it was an excellent opportunity to see fellow MAACA members and talk pins in the paring lot. Then you could get parts inside SB and freeplay on some of the pins.

Ricker's current lineup;

El Dorado          Flash.                   Royal Flush           Joker Poker
Volley               Pioneer                 Barracora             Black Knight
