STTNG is now in the house, actually in my hallway. Found a fully shopped STTNG in real nice shape, with just one switch error. Barely need to do anything at all. The guy that shopped it did a masterful job, and at a great price. The best part is that I did not have to drive to the USA and deal with customs.
Have to see why Duane says it is so undervalued.
It has been scientifically proven that light is faster than sound. That is why some people seem brilliant........until they open their mouth!
A subwoofer as a MUST HAVE on this game... It's the most amazing sound upgrade you'll ever hear!

When you say "subwoofer" do you mean tieing in an amped (or passive) external sub or using a crossover kit to send more bass to a better version woofer in the lower cabinet? Just curious.
About subwoofer: Most will mean just an upgrade 8" (instead of 6 1/2") sub like those sold by Pinball Pro. Since ST:TNG is DCS, the amplifier is already sending say 600Hz and lower to the Sub. That is good enough. If you add a crossover just to the Sub, you lose some of the mids since the Amplifier sends around 300 Hz and up or so to the backbox speakers and therefire there would be a hole in the sound if you say add a crossover that filters 80Hz and below. But some just want to hear the thump.....
Vids: Crystal Castles, Gauntlet/Gauntlet II, Donkey Kong Jr., Ms. Pac-Man, Vs. Super Mario Bros. (other Vids in storage - for now) Pins:White Water [WH2O]
there's a reason it's sits at #2 below tz on IPDB's rating.
I find it's one of the only machine where you can accomplish NOTHING by "just slapping the ball around". You have to AIM and make the shots else say good bye to the ball!
and hey, it's a Williams from 1993.. need I say more?!

It's the full PinballPro kit.. It's a passive sub with a crossover, and a variable attenuator for the backbox speakers.. You have to turn down (WAY down) the backbox speakers in order to really get the full advantage of the sub. To compensate, I have my game volume set at 27.. The sound is.... well... FANTASTIC!! as Capt Picard would say!!

I suppose if you wanted to do it right you'd send 80 Hz and below to the under cabinet speaker, and 80-300 to one of the front panel speakers and 300 and above woudl go to the other (but have to be attenuated to match). Just a guess here. I haven't modified my STTNG sound arrangement yet.
