Hey guys,

This recent rash of good weather has been put to good use.  Here's a couple of pics I've taken (Waning Crescent moon, Jupiter), and also one I took back in March (Saturn) which I've reprocessed using techniques I've learned over the last few months.  Let me know what you think.

Tiny: I know, I know.   My youngest daughter's 9 month ailment seems to be drawing to an end so I think I'll finally have some free time.

... and here's the moon pic.  This is the result of sifting over 900 different frames, choosing the proper ones and creating a mosaic from the final 33 best frames.  There was actually over 1800 pics taken, one for the lum data, one for the color.  This is my first moon picture that I've processed in color as I've learned some processing techniques which make it a possibility.

The attached pic is 1152 x 864. The full resolution pic is 3200 x 2400. if you ever want to see how it looks, send me a PM with your email address and I'll forward it to you.

Yup, I figure it puts some context as to Jupiter's size.  I think I posted this one before but in case you missed it, here it is again:  Jupiter with a moon's shadow transitioning across its disc. My pic (lousy quality) is on the left, the pic on the right is a simulation to show where the shadow and moon should be. As you can see, I matched perfectly .  This was done years ago, I can do much better now, looking forward to trying to take more pics of the giant planet this week.

Hey fellow pinheahs,

Full size pic is sent, if you didn't get it, let me know.  Thanks to all for the comments, my ego appreciates it .

Pha:  I don't have one of the complete full moon yet. Reason for this is because it's a low priority due to the lack of detail at full moon (the detail comes from the shadows and of course there's hardly any shadows at full moon). Still, I do want to get one of every phase, so it is coming someday, hopefully this year pending weather.  I do have a few others that are near full moon, I've included them here.

Heck no, I'm blushing here!  Let me know where you print it and how it turned out (and how much it cost), I wouldn't mind printing a few and pasting them on one of my man cave walls.

Ricker: no problem, just send me an email address that I can email it too.

Wallmart?  I'll check them out. A couple of years ago, I got pics done at Club Price and was impressed with both their prices and the quality. I got some done at Xmas time at Blacks (I think) and the framing of the pic was not accurate, the color in some was wrong, etc.  Who would have thunk I'd get better quality from Club Price?
