OK, I picked up the JackBot from Hardkor (Thanks Stan), and I have a Bride of PinBot, Do I need a PinBot to go with them? I think it would be cool to see them all lined up, but are they worth the real estate the 3 games take?? Space is the biggest enemy for me, so... Is it worth it? I had a PinBot for a short time a couple of years ago, but a Friend really wanted it and it left in a big deal so I never had the chance to really get into it.

Dave

Not sure about you but i certainly dont I hate that game !

Ok i've said it, i feel better now. But you've asked for it

EDIT: Seriously thou, buying a game is the best way to find out if you needed it or not. I had to buy a lot of games in order to make sure that i really wanted them, last arrival is one of them, Shadow, i needed to own it, i just kept thinking about it so better do it and get over it. Get a Pinbot, set it up and soon you will have a real answer to your question

EDIT 2: I was serious for the hate part. I'm just unable to enjoy Pinbot, but apparently a lot of people can so my opinion is worth what its worth.

Currently owning:
- Solar Fire, Medusa, Flash Gordon, (Centaur), No Fear

I personally think it's one of the best Sys 11 around.

The music on it "is" the best of any Sys 11,
and, although simple, I never got bored of playing that game...

Besides, now the Pluto is no longer considered a Planet,
I'm sure the game is now worth more !
(...well ok, maybe not ...)

If had the other two, I'd most certainly want the "trilogy".
(...and I'd probably also get "Taxi" just to be complete... !  )

Cheers,
Steph

If you have a Jackbot, I don't see the need to repeat.  It is similar.

Having said that, I sold my Pinbot awhile back.  I miss it, but I think I would look for a jackbot to replace it.

Pinbot! BOOOOOO!

It's nice if you want something to smash.

Great artwork. Great sound. Horrible, terrible gameplay. It will make you want to hurt yourself.

Read my lengthy review HERE!

In retrospect, I think I rated it too highly.

It's like the Pepsi commercials. It might have stood up well in the 80's but you really don't need to have one today.

Ask yourself this question... should I update the title of my thread from "NEED" to "WANT"?  Tastes cannot be debated. Look at Necro and his secret Gottlieb collection... we all know he is a closet-Hollywood-Heat-lover.

Basically, it comes to this... You want one? Can you afford one? Get one. Period.

But as stated previously, yes, Jackbot is TOO similar to Pinbot for you to actually get to enjoy it, unless you like 2 of the same pin. Apart from the DMD, sound and gambling theme (none of which alters gameplay), it is pretty much the same.

Retiring soon...

I have a pinbot and I love it...  Wouldn't sell it unless I really have to.  Guests that come over also take an appreciation to it.  It's a challenging game for experts but easy enough for novices.  The sound and lights are great and the speech adds another level to the game.  That being said, Jackbot is basically the same thing so I wouldn't have both....  I like the 80's pins so I would stick to pinbot.  For those who say the game play is boring or too simple I say you haven't played it enough but that's just my opinion........

Pins: Pinbot, Silverball Mania, Night Rider (SS).
