Finally got around to shopping out Star Gazer. Still needs a tiny bit of tweaking, but it's playing well now. Here's a short video where I demonstrate how not to play pinball well:

The sounds on Star Gazer are among my favourite in pinball. The spinner sounds (when lit) and the bonus count-down are pretty much orgasmic. And the sounds change as you progress through the game. Fairly innovative for the time.

Adam: my high score at the moment is just shy of 3.7 million. I got that game on video as well, but it clocked in at over 13 minutes. Since youtube restricts videos to 10 minutes or less, I couldn't upload it without editing, so I figured I'd just shoot another (less epic) game.

Pffft. All that work and you didn't even get one multiball!

Star Gazer clearly isn't as much fun or challenging as Lightning or Catacomb. Thanks for the video nonetheless.

I agree that SG isn't at challenging as Catacomb, but it is definitely more fun. I find Catacomb's shots to be fairly unsatisfying whereas SG shots have fun written all over them. Sweeping the drop banks, smoking the spinners and watching the ball go electric in the tight areas around the bumpers is nothing but pure awesomenes. Catacomb can't touch SG for level of fun factor, IMHO. And SG's sounds are far superior as well.

Now, Lightning on the other hand... that's just a great game. It is superior to SG in both level of fun and challenge.

My two cents.

Doug will have to fill you in on my high score, I've forgotten, I think I had something close to 6 million or maybe closer to 4 million.  I just remember that whatever Doug's high score was I doubled it
