in my opignion it s a realy nice space.....just like that ,have you ever think of putting the washer and dryer on the back wall of the bathroom facing the fournaise...that way you would save a passage way into combining both

Thanks for all the ideas so far!

Made a quick drawing of the exterior walls.  Dotted lines are beams/bulkheads.  One post in the centre.  I'll post back when I get some ideas on paper.

I would definitely suggest combine laundry/furnace/storage  room, unless you want the laundry area finished. The wall on the right side looks ideal for a future pinball lineup if it doesnt get chopped up. Is the front room on the left part of the basement? Maybe home office/work area rear left of bathroom. And den/spare bedroom front left.

Main thing preserve the long wall on the right side. Anyone on MAACA will understand that!

My guess is the part of the left is the garage.  Looks like a raised level house. i.e walk in the front door, garage on the left, half flight to the left to the main floor, half flight to the right down to the basement (or vice versa).

Yes her garage is out front on the left.  As people say, the right hand side is perfect for a long wall of machines.

Could the bathroom go in the laundry / furnace room?   Wall off from the left-stair to the post and across to the furnance.    Then you'd have more living area on the other side of the beam.
