Guys, other than 1 post for the MAACA crests, I have been gone for over 2 weeks and no one noticed. The only reason I posted was to advise of the new policy before you found out for yourselves and be surprised. That's all.

Now to clarify things:

1- I no longer want to post anymore. Some take everything I write too damn seriously.

2- I will no longer exercise my admin rights and will hand them over to someone else.

3- My account will remain open for PMs.

4- I am still and will still restore games as long as there is a demand. My business will probably drop by doing what I have decided to do but so be it.  

5- I have decided to unban most members that I have banned. You are all big enough to run things yourself.

6- I just want to breathe and not have to worry about dealing with crap every night.

7- Yes, I am still going to Allentown.

8- Anyone can still come over and have a beer. My door is always open.

Now PLEASE... I hope this is enough.

I just checked my calendar. It's the 22nd of April and not the first.

Every forum need an admin to rules the place and banned the bad people. I hope you will give this authority to someone else and keed the banned people banned !

You had an absolutely THANKLESS job, and got s--t all over regardless of what you did.

You couldn't pay me enough to deal with that crap everyday,
and you did it for free for 5+ years...

Also, it's pretty obvious that you are/were passionate about this site,
so any attacks or dispute were all the more stressful for you.

I'm sure no-one has the slightest idea of just how much strain this endeavor has been over the years.

I think you most certainly deserve to take a break from this daily grind,
but truth be told, I think this site will lose out with your absence.

I thank you immensely for your hard work and dedication,
and hope you return at some point,
...because no-one else could ever be the "Grand Poo-bah" .

Holy mess! I don't know what to say....

Afraid I think MAACA needs someone to keep it aligned. It's a thankless and crappy job. Like many SANE members, I find it hard to believe you get PMs for some of the stupid things that happen -- I don't doubt it just find it incredible people bother.

I hope you reconsider, but if not, then someone should take over admin rights; otherwise the place will go downhill quickly. I've never seen an unmoderated board work. There is always going to be some yahoo that wants to stir the pot.

    i agree.

  sorry i was part of the last stink on the pages.  i didn't bring up things till after it was out.  just did what the wife said.  just log off and relax.    peek alittle and come on rarely.   try doing that sparky.  hope to share that beer with you soon.   you did more then a great job.  you were always there trying to help someone out, fix things between members, promoting things or just reading all the p.m's.
  sorry to hear you will not be the firm law that helps keeps us trusting and safe.  but happy to hear you will go and live the sparky life.

From what I saw publicly on the forum this comes as a surprise.

I can't understand why people would actually PM Sparky about an issue they had and force him to deal with it.

If more people would have man'ed up and taken responsibility for their own issues I am sure Sparky's concerns would have been considerably less.

So now once again the meek inherit the earth through PM'ing Sparky into oblivion.

He's right, sadly boards have to be moderate but not everybody can do this job. I don't know how many PMs Sparky got before he had enough but I see no reason why people had abused him like that.

Hope you will come back Sparky, even if not like an admin guy, you are very helpful for us

The board wont be as moderated as it was but there will still be some kind of moderation in serious cases.

there is always watchful eyes whether you see them or not. but we are adults and i expect people to conduct themselves in a proper manner, to think before you hit the post button. if there is issues problems between members please resolve it in private this forum is not a court or responsible for your actions or the actions of others.

I'll go against the grain and say "go".  Having been an admin for years at another site, I'll state everything gets heavy after a while.  For me, even little issues became big issues, it was just too much. Compound that with family health issues and "reality" got a lot clearer real fast.  Anyway, the only thing that counts is what you want to do, no one has the right to ask you to do something you don't want to do.  So if you want to go, then have fun and know we're thankful to have had you commit so much time to this community. We're the better for it.

p.s. I will correct you where you said you were gone for 2 weeks and no one noticed.  It was noticed, I think the populace was trying to give you a break. I guess you're damned if you do and ... .

I say go as well.  Take a break.  If you decide to come back, I am sure the other admins will leave the door open.

I do have to say that I find it funny about all these PM's you get.  I don't think I ever got a single one over on CGCC.  Maybe Mark and Machine.Slave get them or maybe we just don't care enough.
