Space Race is very psychadelic, lots of colors, lots of mirrored effects (the stars) AND it has space chicks

I most certainly wouldn't NOT play a pinball because of the backglass - who looks there while you're playing the game?
I agree that you say but when I have to make choice to play or buying machine it's always the first think that I'm looking

Backglasses and cabinet art are there for one sole purpose only... to attract the player and intice him/her to put in a quarter. It is merely for marketing purposes. But a fun thing about it is that it also can add a certain story-line to a game.

At on a machine can make or break a pin. Cases in point, Demolition Man and Grand Lizard. The first had a super translite lined up and it got vetoed by Wesley Snipes. It ended up with the absolutely family-portrait-looking translite there is now, which didn't attract people to it. Grand Lizard wasn't that popular either due to the backglass that looked like it was done by an 8th grader, but having had the original art which was supposed to be on it, chances are it would have fared better.

Retiring soon...

Scared Stiff has an amazing backglass IMHO. No not because of the cleavage but for the multi-layer effect and attention to detail and humour.

I also think TZ is very well done. CFTBL is also very nice.

I really think a backglass is important in a home game-room. I think every game room needs at least 1 pin with a nice backglass.

Pins owned:
Bally - Twilight Zone (1993)
Williams - Star Trek The Next Generation (1993)
Bally - Scared Stiff (1996)
Stern - Lord of the Rings (2004)
