Does anyone know offhand, if a Bally coil NC-24-1400 can substitute for a Bally NO-26-1900 ?  I left my 1900 coil at work and have an extra 1400 lying around and would like to throw it in if possible.

I'll keep surfing for an answer in the meantime.

Probably could be tried temporarily, only if the coil is activated by momentary pulses (e.g. not held-on).

The 'replacement' 24-1400 will draw more current (and be more powerful) than the original 26-1900.

Do not forget to check for the presence and orientation of the diode on any replacement coil.

Cheers,
- Sylvain.

Looking for 1966 Bally Capersville, 1967 Bally The Wiggler, 1981 Stern Viper, 1986 Pinstar Gamatron,
1986 Williams Grand Lizard, 1991 Williams Bride of Pinbot, and a few others.
Cash or some trades available. Could also repair a machine of yours +/-$ if needed, in exchange for
one machine on my want list, non-working/unshopped welcome!

Thanks Sylvain...there are definitely a couple of sages on this site, and you're one of them.  I should have specified that the coil is the target reset coil, so it will not be activated very often.  The 1400 is coming off of a 5-target bank target and is going onto a 4-target bank.  I guess that's why the original coil ( 26-1900 ) was a  lighter-duty coil, since 4 targets require less power to reset than 5.  I'm going to give it a go.

Thanks again.
