Well, I just got news through the the grapevine that Alouette just received a pinball lot from Dubai...

Included in the lot is a game I've been l00king for a while: FLIPPER FOOTBALL!!!

As soon I heard, I called Alouette to 'check out the goods'.

I asked for Helge and was told he no longer works there... Dunno the story, but might as well let everyone know.

Then I talk to Pierre and ask some info about the CapCom games from Dubai...he tells me there aren't any Capcoms...then I say 'Flipper Football'...he goes oh yah yah...that one!

I ask him how much 'as is'...knowing that I'm talking a HUGE gamble as the DMDs on a FF are extremely rare and even worse: $500US to replace!  

After a 5-minute waiting period, he goes... $1800 (!!!)  



I said WWWWHHHHATTTT???? He goes, yah, 1800...it's a very rare game you know!

I just went maybe, but there's a reason...it's not popular and if the DMD is screwed, they cost 500US....he just replied, well I guess it needs to be tested...

Thus I hung up in disbelief... 1800!!??!!!??? ARE THEY INSANE!!??!!!???!!!

I can get a 100% working one for less thatn 1500cad, shipped from BC and I still think it's too much for that game...

I'll probably never call or visit Alouette again....IDIOTS!!!

They're AT LEAST 1000 to high for an 'AS IS' Dubai FF...

The fact that you called them before they even listed the game was an indication to them that they might have a sucker on the line...  They figured: he must REALLY want this thing so we'll make a 'special' price for him..

Personally I think all Canadian resellers are out to lunch on their prices.  The problem is they do get idiots walking in there and paying insane prices because they don't know any better..

Their asking price when they list stuff on this site should have been an indication..  They're ALWAYS overpriced, especially with this crowd (MAACA collectors that KNOW something about current prices).

Alouette was Helge...and now that Helge is gone, that means alouette will not list their games on MAACA.

Yes, FF is not the most popular game, but then again, Capacom never had huge production runs anyways.

"Game is very rare"...does that mean I should have asked $2500 for my City Slicker? (prod. run was only 300)

Hmmm... very sad that Alouette lost Helge... They had him doing EVERYTHING there for a while... it was nuts.

I sincerely hope he comes back in the gaming community in one way or another... he was always a pleasure to deal with.

So that means you spoke to Richard... who knows very little about the games at all. For him, all that they have is 1800$... except the ones that are truly worth more and he has been warned in advance...
