Wow this is excellent. I am a huge Evil Dead fan. Nice to see a Hollywood Heat put to good use. ;)

It's better than some newer pins! Great custom.
Holywood Heat? Did change the game rules? Gottlieb make very ugly pins in this era some of them will gain a lot to be customized

BRILLIANT job, my man! Great work! Is there any writeups on your progress? I'd love to hear the story behind this :) The plastics look great, and the backglass... tops anything I've ever seen.
I'm a HUGE fan of this franchise.. just awesome

wouldn't this technichally be an Evil Dead 2 machine since Ash never attached a chainsaw to his hand in the first one.
seriously though, FN Amazing, how much would you charge to do an Army of Darkness pin.

DITTO...
Does it include my favorite ED quote "That's it go ahead and run, run home and cry to mamma" or do we have to wait for an Army of Darkness sequel pin?

My fave:
"Alright you Primitive Screwheads, listen up! You see this? This... is my BOOMSTICK! The twelve-gauge double-barreled Remington. S-Mart's top of the line. You can find this in the sporting goods department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retails for about a hundred and nine, ninety five. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. YOU GOT THAT?!?"

Gimme some sugar, baby.
Hail to the king, baby.
Duke Henry: You Sir, are not one of my vassals... who are you?
Ash: Who wants to know?
Duke Henry: I am Henry the Red. Duke of Shale, Lord of the Northlands and leader of its peoples.
Ash: Well hello Mister Fancypants. Well, I've got news for you pal, you ain't leadin' but two things, right now: Jack and sh*t... and Jack left town.
I have to watch these over again..
Also Cool pin :)

Already doing it! I have all the special edition DVDs. Lots of fun!

Is there a "Woodshed!" quote ? Like when nothing is happening at all on the field... Since Bruce Campbell never said the word during filming but it was added in editing. When he say it, his lips don't move one bit !
I have Army of Darkness in all current format : DVD, HD-DVD and Blu-Ray...

schaweet!
I was considering modding hollywood heat when i had it. but i sent it to be appreciated somewhere else.
funny enough, i had thought of doing an "army of darkness" pin myself...
I guess i'll wait till Pinzilla eventually comes home, then i can just make a software version

Alright, lets get down to brass tacks here... how much for the ape?
(woops, wrong movie)
That is.. would you consider doing this mod for others if we were to supply a Hollywood Heat pin and a fist full of cash? :) There seems to be a buzz on RGP about this too

I used a mp3 trigger from a halloween fx place to do all the sounds. SD card reader, super easy to use. It has 32 triggers that you can have as many sounds you want linked to each trigger, plus background music/tracks.
I used microswitches hooked up to the switches under the playfield. So game rules are all the same as Hollywood Heat ROMS. Nothing changed there.
I just stripped the already punched playfield, Repainted, Made custom vinyl sideart graphics. Custom plastics, Backglass inspired by Black Hole.
I am thinking of making an Army of Darkness pin next plus some others. If you have an old beat up pin you want to reinvent / give new life let me know. I would love to build more.
If you do want to do this to a Hollywood Heat I do have all the art files I did, saved and sized and could print them off in vinyl overlays to build more. If you are in the Toronto area I could even pick up your pin and change it over in about 2 weeks now that I have all the hard design work done.

Hi!
Where did you get all this stuff and can you expand a bit on how you did it. I am working on an EM custom pin and want to add sound etc. I have been investigating some ways of doing it.
tks

I love the art. Who did it? Nice comic graphics of original characters! I recognize them easily, yet they put a nice twist as cartoons.
I am using an Eletech EM3038AT unit for my sounds. I suspect yours is the same or similar.

As far as the artwork goes, Myself and a buddy of mine designed it all, some of it is loosly based on google images artwork others have done, but changed to fit the cartoonish look I was going for.
As far as the sounds go I used a mp3 playback module from a Halloween Fx place pretty much the same as the ELETECH but with lightshow and servo/relay capabilities

Oh it does have the" Workshed" dub after you shoot the ball up the ramp for the third time. Ramp Quotes are "Groovy, You're goin down, Workshed, Chainsaw noise"
POP BUMPER " Give me back my Hand!, Here's your new home, Gotya didn't I you little sucker, Whos laughing now?"
I'm gonna post more video of gameplay in a week or two after I switch out the lights for LED's.
