I went to check out the ToPL Venue today.... WOW what a collection this guy has got!!!!  Blew my sock off.

Anyway, I was able to play a  lot of games that I thought I would like (but didn't), and some that I didn't think that I liked, but after playing, realy did like!

No that was not me.  I think I was wearing a participant Las Vegas International Billiards Championship T-Shirt on.. It was Blue in colour.

I contacted that guy on Kijiji.  He said some of his plastics were broken and the machine has some "Minor" issues...  for the price I would have thought it would be in better condition???  I'll keep looking.  Thanks nonetheless.

That's way too much for a JY in that condition.  I think I sold mine for $2400 last year.  I had the machine up for sale for nearly 6 months.  

Mine was in really good operational condition, with minor cosmetic wear.  I had replaced the horseshoe plastic with an aftermarket one, replaced the slingshot plastics, done some electronic work, new coin door, shopped it, etc.

In that $ range I would much rather pick NGG over JY any day of the week. Might run you a couple hun more for the NGG but definitely a better game IMHO.

This is the part I can't figure out. I know a few people who sold JY's and had a slow time in selling them.  If there is not that much interest...why is not priced the same as other B level WPC games?

I played the JY at the ToPL location this past weekend.  It seamed to be a VERY attractive game, and a fun play.  I didn't really get a chance to get deep into it, as there were SOOOO MANY PINS to choose from, and LOTS I had never played.  I thing the Host was Jim.... What a great collection he has!  Thanks again for hosting!  Sorry I wasn't able to partake in the tourney... Next time.

You should try it.  I was so impressed that I traded my beloved GNR for one.  The guy originally wanted either my TAF or RFM...but the GNR went.  

No more Data East for me.

I personally find JY a fun play.  I'll still play it when I see it...the problem is, it's not a very deep game.  But..you're right, it's a lot of money to tie up on a game that you can beat easily, when there are better games out there.

Now that's just mean!!!! (monkeybug)

I'll find a GNR eventually... and I'm not above shipping one up from the states.. but maybe in a year or two... to justify the $4k it will cost me to do so.

Beats me. I at one time thought it was because it was the newer WPC95 platform but then Congo should be worth more using that analysis.

JY is a decent game at first because of the toys, but I would imagine that it gets more like a SS because there's really a limited amount of things to do on the playfield and some linear aspect to the video games.  

I would imagine it's asking price stays high because of the toy and the DMD games.  Am I right?

i have had dealings with him and never had a problem.
it seems to me when ever there is a conflict on this board you are involved.
and you whine about it till you get some sort of hand out.
we all should use this site to meet new people and not as a place to gossip or bad mouth someone else.

I don't see what the big deal is.  MAACA is an open community, I think?  Both sides can openly explain their situation.

As to the comment on BBB. It's a pretty game but it really didn't capture my attention otherwise. In all fairness I didn't know exactly what I was trying to do but it just seemed like I was mainly focusing on locking up the balls for multiball which wasn't all that exciting. Let me qualify that, it might have been $2K of excitement but not $10K. Jury is still out on this title for me.

Pffft, you picked Batman, that game is way more worse then Monopoly, at least Monopoly has a point, so you got nothing on me for that.  

But yea BBB is ok, not 10K worth tho, but if it were int he 2K range I'd most likely pick it up.

  WOW.  dave i will take that to heart.  yep, nice to meet you.  you are right.  meeting people is what this board is about.  but also is dealing with others.  we have our andersons and likes like him.  this joker is just another form of collector that should be black listed just by his actions.  he has admit to upping his prices without telling people that is how he is valueing the deal.  but hey.  jump on his band wagon.

Not to respond but to clarify.  I was trying to explain my valuing of $1200.  It was a mistake on my part.  The tentative trade was for my Slugfest + $200.  Hence I made a mistake calling it $1200.  It should have been $860+200 ($1060) if we wnet by my listed value... unfortunately value gets distorted or lost when a trade is involved.

i have had deals go bad with the same people as you.
when you had an isuse with sirtype you posted on this site and complained about him
at the same time i bought a indiana jones from him and had a issue i contacted him and came to a resolution.
i never had to bad mouth him once. all i am saying is if you have an issue with him deal with it on your own and why should everyone else have to deal with it.

I am a newcomer and perhaps dont have the face here to state my opinion at this point, but if I am to remain a part of this forum I would like to make a suggestion.

If an individual deal goes sour and the one who feels wrongly done wishes to make others aware of this, it is understandable. In fact, it might be a motivator for people who wish to continue to do sales and trades here to stay in line.

However like a court of law, things are subjective when they are supposed to try to be objective whenever possible. In order to keep our credibility, it might be best to refrain from using expletives (swear words) and try to state the facts. This way the other party has the opportunity to make their rebuttal. An all out fight might solve nothing and it messes up the overall mood of this forum. Other members will see what went down and form their own opinions about who to deal with or not. By keeping it simple and factual it will be a lot cleaner and although there are obvious emotions involved, in all fairness for all the other members here lets try and at least keep it clean and avoid name calling. Let's face it, not everyone is a Stephen Anderson character here, and its up to the individual to confirm whether a deal is a "done deal" or not. If an agreement is broken its OK that we know, but dont need to bear witness to a dirty fight.

To make matters even worse, I now see that this fight is going on simultaneously on more than one string. Really guys.
