Just wandering what everyone thought of this pin ? I played it once about 9 year's ago when i first started my addiction. I was picking up a my first couple of vid's and a alinen poker pin and the guy had a SWE1, i thought it was great. I now have a chance to pick 1 up ,but not sure if i want to spend money on that or wait for a better title. Thank's for any thought's.
I wouldn't want it to be my only game, but Pin2000's are cool.
If it's decent shape and you can get it for $2000 or less, I'd be tempted...
Steph
The pin i am looking at has new power supply, legbolts.leg levelers,4 keyed alike locks, new neon transformer and new rubber. It is suppose to be in real nice condition for $ 2400. Is it to much for this pin ? What do they ussally sell for ?

$2400 is not "too" much, but it's not a great deal either... (unless it's pristine or nearly HUO )
This pin doesn't get much love, and you'll likely be hard-pressed to ever sell it back for that price...
I'm sure you can likely find something for a lower price, ... but then you have to factor stuff like availability and shipping. (... how often do these come up for sale in your area ? )

If it were me, I'd try to get it for $2100.
Steph.
Agree 100% with Steph. It doesn't get alot of love and you will have a hard time selling it down the road. I would try for an even lower price.
You do realize that this is based on Star Wars Episode 1?! Not only was it a bad movie, but it molested the memories of many a person that grew up with Star Wars. It also killed Williams. Yes, I blame George Lucas for killing the last great pinball manufacturer.
Even if this game were the next TZ or LOTR (in terms of gameplay), I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole.

It depends what you want to do with it...
1) You could buy a "Revenge from Mars" kit for it, and swap out the playfield/roms.
2) Keep in mind that NuCore has successfully negotiated with Waynus and Illinois Pinball and can produce a system that will allow you to use both PB2000 programs without the use of the original hardware. It's possible this might open the door to further PB2000 development.
So...while I don't particularly like SWE1, I do think the PB2000 platform holds a lot of promise right now.
If you're planning on keeping it only as a SWE1, I think Steph's comment is a very important consideration.
If you ever go to sell it, it's not a popular title that you're not likely to get your money back out of. Also SWE1 is likely going to be a tough sell at $2400, even if it has extras/new parts. (Book value is $2800, but I think most people would admit the book value is too high right now, given the state of the economy. It's tough to sell any pins at the moment - there's been a good quality R&B for sale on MAACA for almost 5 months, but no one is buying). If you've really got your heart set on it, try and offer less and see if the seller will accept. If not, wait it out for another 6 weeks and try again. I doubt anyone's going to "snap it up".

Um anyways, I've had this game for some time now and I think it's not really that bad (if we could edit out the Jar-Jar audio it would be better). Sure it's a little repetitive but in the big picture are all pins repetitive? I do recommend of course trying to get the RFM and have both so that you can enjoy the whole platform P2K since it's pretty cool. I also have great hopes for the NuCore folks too because if it means sweeter hardware and new games I am soooooo in!

Couldn't disagree more, and I'm a person who saw the original Episode 4, 5 times in the theatre when it first came out. Now that I'm experienceing my second childhood (with my Star Wars nut case 8 year old son), I have to say that the first 3 episodes (last 3 made) are extremely entertaining. Mee sah, a bit, how yoo say, clumsy.
I'd take a SWE1 Pinball 2000 in a heartbeat if I could afford it (dead or alive).
i just bought swei and paid alot more then $2200.this game is a must for any collector.it might not be the best game out there but one of a kind for sure.lots of fun

cactus canyon is a dog and sells for $6000 , swe1 is the last game to roll off the assembly line , also its a a star wars theme and pin 2000 is really cool , not the deepest game but i fell pin2ks are undervalued.
