We are in the phase of finding a location..and hopefully by July 1st, we will be up and running. I am going to look at a location in Toronto, right beside the docks nightclub. in what is known as the portlands district of Toronto. In our opinion, it is close to Downtown, to major highways, to transit and is in a state of renewal, so it is still fairly reasonably priced. Any comments, thoughts, or other insight on a possible location would be appreciated.Approximate size is 3500 sq ft
PS. We will be setting up in Toronto for now
Thanks for looking, and by commenting, you will be helping us out a lot....

I think that's a great location! One of the best in the city in terms of view for sure.. and with you being right next to a night club, you'll definitely get a lot of business if you stay open later Also keep in mind that they're somewhat of an amusement park during the day.. also very good for business.

I know that TOPL will be there no matter what, but that being said, the only thing you might have a problem with would be foot traffic. From what I remeber of the area, it's pretty industrial so the only time people will be going there will be to go to the museum or to go to the docks. You will most likely get some spill over from the docks but during the winter months I think it will be a pretty tough location to be in as the area will be pretty dead then.

Not, as I recall, a family friendly location (other than TOPL, families and tourists are more likely to visit than anyone), but I haven't been there in ages. What other attractions are being planned for the area? I have no understanding of the renewal process of the area so this may have all changed. Facilities along a major transportation corridor (such as the 401 or west portion of the QEW) or next to another major attraction with accessible parking and family food facilities would tend to be the best to attract museum visitors I would think. Pinball Leauge will travel within 50k of GTA but they are only occasional users, I would think that tourists and general public (who will mostly only visit once) would be the bigger target (unless this is to be more of a local arcade than an attraction). What was wrong with the Clifton Hill / Niagara Falls idea again?
Well, it is all about cost I guess. Any space in a family-friendly environment will cost a lot of money. But in a more industrial area, space is cheaper...
i hear waterloo has alot of vacant warehouses, why not move it here? then i'll have something to do during the day when i'm driving around

Zoning is good to go in this area, and the foot traffic is increasing along Cherry St, as they have recently redid Cherry Beach, and are in the process of revitalizing the entire portlands area. Within the next few years, a lot of new attractions as well as mixed use commercial/residential is going to be pooping up in that area. It is somewhat reasonably priced, being located next to a large nightclub, drive in movie theatre, driving range and go kart track, so the future may be bright for that area. I took some pics of it, maybe will post them later, I think it is a good place to start, but ultimately Niagara Falls is the best place for something like this.
