Wanting to replace the C26 cap on a sol. driver board.  Happen to have a 220 mF 350 volt cap.  Can I replace the existing 150 mF 350 V with this new cap ?  Although its okay to go higher for the C23 cap, I wasn't sure about the C26.

Merci.

Yes, 220uF value will be OK (at 350V), to replace the original 160uF.
Rated 85 C temperature or higher.

But I would recommend to not go higher than 220uF, as it will
otherwise stress the four small diodes on the rectifier board,
at every power-up.

Cheers,
- Sylvain.

Okay, thanks Sylvain.

I noticed that Sayal has some 150 mF 350 V.  Although this is a little underrated, would 150 mF be preferred over 220 mF in the future ?

It is usually never a good idea to replace a cap with one that is underrated.

In this simple filtering application for the displays' power supply however,
since very close to the original value, I bet it would work just fine.

I personally would put a 220uF if given a choice, providing that the replacement cap
has dimensions to fit the board, and that the price difference is small with the 150uF.

Cheers,
- Sylvain.
