Thought you might like to read how the #$%@ my morning went... - On my way to work, I get a called from ADT (security company) that my home may have been "breached", there is an intruder alarm. I tried to call the wife who had just left, her cell didn't answer (went straight to the voice mail). I had to turn around and meet the police at my place. Did so, went in the house, nothing forced, but I notice the door that enters into the garage from the house is ajar. @#$@!#$#@! Somehow the wife/eldest daughter didn't close it properly so the alarm set off. That's probably a $100 bill I could do without. I'm a lucky guy. - On my way to work (the sequel), I get a call from my daugther who's in tears. She'd forgotten her purse in class the other day unfortunately someone brought it back to the front desk but empty of its contents - her cell, MP3 player, $60 and more. I had to go to school to meet with the Assistant school principal (whatever they call her title) to discuss the issue and perhaps bring Mel home (she was quite upset). We're lucky people. - On my way to the school I pass through a speed trap, I note the blondish police lass with the radar gun pointing right at me. I take a look at the speedometer and notice I'm doing 110km in an 80km zone. I check the mirror and sure enough the police offer puts on her red flashers and does a 180 in my pursuit. As I'm practicing my "can you give me a break with the day I'm having line", I notice she suddenly veers off onto a side road and disappears. Like I said, I'm a lucky guy . Like everything in life, it's all about balance. |
