I keep trying to imagine how this environmental mess must look like to another bunch of beings from another planet, - if they were able to take a look at us. Drilling holes in the bottom of the ocean to extract some ancient liquid that will burn in the engines we built in order to propel ourselves around everyday back & forth, and by the same token sends more and more crap into the air we breathe as a by product of this act when everything goes as planned. But now because part of the plan has failed horribly, and is not easily containable, our precious fossil fuel is on the water we need, on the shores where we live and bound to affect the food chain. Must look incredibly weird & non-logical to others who do not live here.
If we are observed by a life form that actually has the means to get a look at us, we must look pretty careless and probably foolishly dangerous.

Perspective rigorously and regularly alters what we often stubbornly believe to be true, thus leaving us in disagreement about we believe to be a solid truth.
Or in Nietzsche's words - "Truth has never yet clung to the arm of an inflexible man."
