I have everything I need to restore a Joust cocktail vid, ....except time
(... and most likely, some carpentry skills... )
I picked-up the bare cabinet 6 years ago along with my Robotron cocktail.
(
http://www.arcade.chezsuys.com/RoboCocktail.html )
I then got almost everything needed to restore it ( boards, artwork, monitor, etc... ).
I also know where to find the special monitor shroud and new top glass if I decide I want them.
The problem is that with 3 kids, a full time job, and my hobbyroms business at night,
I simply have NO time to start this project.
I had worked out an arrangement with Bish to have his class work on it,
but as we all know, his school unfortunately canceled that program,
so now the stuff is back in my garage.
I really don't want to give this up,
(..I'm into Williams "rarities", and this would fit nicely with the Joust pin and Robo cocktail ),
but I know it's just going to sit in my garage forever...
So my options are :
1- Pay someone to restore it for me (preferred option )
2- Sell it as is (last resort option )
So....
If anyone is interested in either options, let me know...
Here is a description of the "project"
1- Cab is rough but complete . Some laminate would need to be replaced. Paid $150CDN for cab only.
2- Top glass is cheap plexi replacement. I have source for a nice glass replacement.
3- I have new Phoenix-Arcade repro art (2 CP's and coin door insert) : Paid $120US
4- NO Joysticks or buttons
5- I have very clean, burn-free, re-capped G07 monitor for it ( Paid $50 for chassis repair )
6- Fully-working boardset (CPU, ROM, Snd, I/O board) : Paid $150US
7- Switching power supply
8- Incomplete wiring harness (...but enough to see board and monitor work )
Like I said, I'd rather keep it ,
so having "someone" restore it would be my preferred option.
(I'm in Ottawa, but would consider transporting it as far as MTL if need be )
I really have no idea how much work it would need,
but my biggest hurdle is the cabinet work, I can do all the electronics and wiring.
If no-one is interested in doing restoration work,
I'd likely have to consider selling it, at which point I'd like to get at least
what I've invested in it ( ie. about $500 CDN )
[...I know, $500 for a "project" seems like alot,
but I could probably sell each part separately and get that much... ]
I'm including a few pics...
Let me know...
