Is the economy that bad? Has the summer hiatus period begun and there is little interest? Or is the value of B titles dropping? Or does Keanu Reeves suck that much?
I would have bought for that if it was closer to me.
It has been scientifically proven that light is faster than sound. That is why some people seem brilliant........until they open their mouth!
Factor in the taxes at borders and its as cheap as the one that sold on Ebay. I didnt see anyone running to grab it, and its really nice and CHEAP, at least in my opinion.
Currently owning: - Solar Fire, Medusa, Flash Gordon, (Centaur), No Fear ------------------
I guess I'd buy it for that price if I could ignore the shipping/taxes - and Treasure Cove has a good reputation as far as I know. So if the auction was next door and all I had to do was show up with $1175 USD - it'd be in the house, and I'd be sleeping on the couch.
So, I'm surprised noone in the USA who could avoid the shipping/taxes didn't pick it up. Maybe prices are falling in the USA.
I was suprised to see that as well. I haven't seen pin prices drop that much to be honest. I think the low final bid is a result of bad timing (people are thinking summer) and the fact the game doesn't get alot of love.
Two things are at work here that may give you that impression.
1. It's a solid B list title.
2. As a B list you can see it didn't get hauled down ala a Treasure Cove or HEP MM would. Spit and polish on a solid game that gets no love.
All you have is a cleaned up pretty good condition to begin with B list game. Once you factor in game/shipping/exchange/taxes at the border, is it that great a deal?
Just the ones that look they are going to cheap . I wasn't interested in buying it, I was just curious as it seemed to be going really low with an hour or so to spare.

Not to rag on the MAACA one, but it has insert wear and a cracked ramp, the TC one doesn't.
But I'm also suprised to see it go for so low, I wasn't watching it but could have been worth it to ship it to a depot in the states in like Niagara Falls or Buffalo or something and pick it up from there, deal with the taxes yourself.
It's about time! I was wondering when pin prices would start falling. But it's too early to start celebrating/panicing, this is only one data point and is possibly an anomaly. It could also be due to the fact that Keanu is less popular at the moment due to his huge bomb of a movie (Day the Earth Stood Still).
Also, I'd expect the pin market to go lower sooner than the Canadian market due to the weakness of their economy vs the strength of ours.

Pin prices seem to be getting lower to me, at least for the non A-listers.. I mean hell, you can pick up a DMD for under $1k these days. Surely a sign of the times.. it's probably not as big a leap up here for us, considering the Canadian economy isn't hurting nearly as bad as the US.
