I heard a rumour that Toronto Coin (aka Toronto pinball exchange) with Bill and Dallas is moving to a new building in Hamilton? Is this true? Are they set-up yet? It would be very easy to get parts for us guys near the SW area (wouldn't have to travel to Oakville or Toronto to buy parts.) |

That would be interesting. It would help with some basic parts but not all. Everytime I call them asking for a game specific part they take down my number to look but never call back. The last time I called them 3 times in a week to see if they found a simple part and no call backs. Ended up placing an order with Starburst during the week and picked it all up on a Saturday.
It's obvious they aren't in the parts selling market. I can't really blame them, there's more money to be made selling games. |

Excellent! It will make the home pinball market in Oakville (the buyers who do buy pinballs and have money) more accessible!
I like Dallas, BUT they're customer service on parts is, well, difficult at times. I have exactly the same experience - you call, no call back, or they say they will find you something and you have to persist 4 times. Then you show up on the doorstep and Dallas will finally look for something, but then sell you a used part for as much or more than a new one.
Once you've been in this a while, like me, I suspect you tend to avoid them if at all possible. |

Yes, I went by a few weeks ago at the old location on Kerr St. as I was in the area and it was empty. Not sure where they went, but the website is still up and no one answers the phones. If you wanted anything from them you had to go there, it was always like that. |

The website hasn't changed since 2006... I was thinking more for rubbers/posts/coils/etc (easy stuff). I will still use PBR, Marco & Bay area for my reg. purchases (unless I am in the Toronto Area then I may go to Starburst). I hear they will have a larger showroom and concentrate more of home/resales (but also continue as an operator). If they got as much cash as I heard they did from a few different sources (for the sale of their oakville site), and what they purchases the Hamilton site for, they don't really need to work all that hard from here on in. |

Yeah they moved to Gertrude street in Hamilton it is off of Gage avenue. They are not quite set up fully yet but is an awesome building they have now over 5000 sq ft. I got some stuff off of them a few weeks back and got the tour. Looks like they have big plans for the future. Big... I mean huge showroom. Bill said they are going to rent for parties tournaments etc. The place was an old bar/ banquet hall. If you want rubbers or coils though go to playdium store/starburst 1/2 the price, unless you re stuck with no way to get to T.O. |
