Hi everyone, this is way off topic but i thought i would post it, for everyone not reading the newspaper or watching the news.

There is a slight possibility that you are touched, but it would be a good idea to at least check !

Quebec Goverment charged too much interrest to some students and now have to refund money !

To check if you have been screwed:

ENGLISH: http://www.afe.gouv.qc.ca/en/vdir/index.asp then click on "Student Loan Class Action 1997-1998" in the left orange pan.
FRANCAIS: http://www.afe.gouv.qc.ca/fr/vdir/index.asp et cliquez sur "Recours collectif Prts tudiants 1997-1998" dans la partie orange de gauche.

I would be very curious to know if anyone is touched by that, they were mentionning 300-400$ refund to each person. I think my wife will be touched as she finished her university in 1997. I'll check for her tonight, personaly i was was not touched since i completed my bachelor in 1996.

Good luck everyone, would be nice if at least one person could benefit from this information.
Sylvain

I was screwed then, but who cares... got the cheque yesterday... anyone got a deader-than-hell old Stern or Bally to sell me? Hell... I will even take a Gottlieb! Why not... no EMs though. I've had my fill.

Hmm... a deposit on a Big Game perhaps?

Hey Sparky,

I have an "The Professional" - Evel Knieval - works - some GI issue - but make me an offer if interested  - and I might say yes.

Its folded in workshop - waiting for CPR to do the plastics / backglass / playfield - then I'd ask you do redo the cabinet- >     (after seeing you redo playboy - I think you have cornered the market)

The game works - scores - displays work - but on last legs in my rookie-view...   I could take photos if interested, but I'm guessing you are not interested....

I paid $600 - so I'm not selling it for what I paid  -  I'd hate to part it - and would like to see it become an EK again... - I think the cheapest route is to wait for CPR as surely they will do EK at some point...  ...but its a big & expensive project - cabinet repaint (stencils), playfield swap, backglass, pop bumper rebuild, etc...

Hey Doug,

You know what the offer would be... 228,67$.    But that wouldn't be fair to you. If you believe that CPR might do EK, you could always wait. But I don't think that they will be doing it... well, I don't see it being done anyways.

I will definitely be the last guy to say to part out a pin, but in some cases, the pin really is worth more in parts than in it's entirety. Displays fetch a good amount on Ebay, as well as boards. Spare hardware is also handy...

Sparky

PS: ... besides, I already have a The Professionnal backglass.

That's a pretty good offer Sparky... ...I'm thinking about it... - actually if you want it, its yours.   But honestly - I don't see it being a fun project if the goal is to restore it....   ...obviously you'd need photos first, etc...

... I agree on the CPR part as it would be hard to justify $900 for the playfield / backglass / plastics for a EK game.

You should send pics to the IPDB, they doesnt have any of the EK version.

I assume the pf is different on all, but the backglass seems the same, unfortunately

I was hoping pictures of "The Professional" wouldn't be my contribution to the pinball community

If my workroom was bigger I'd set it up in there as "my private game" - its too ugly for the gameroom according to the boss - and on this one I agree!

Yeah - I have a BOPP which is the same boards - so I always thought it would be smart to keep the boards / hardware.   As for CPR, looks like that have allowed the artists full choice on what comes next (http://www.classicplayfields.com/vote.html) - as they have closed the voting.

So if an artist comes and does EK, then I'm in luck.

I just saw that they can re-run Fathom @ any time...

Hi Can anyone tell me if they cashed their last check in August of 1997? I did, and they tell me that I was in a summer session and it does not count. I don't understand, I got the loan for September 1996 and completed studies December 1997. Are they wrong????
