Looks pretty cool. Not surprised someone built it. Is not hard really. By the sound it makes, it looks like it runs off a small engine. The movement of the mech is controlled by hyraulics, and the gun system he is using to shoot was I think is golf or ping-pong balls is controlled by air. You could build one yourself with not too many problems, as pretty much everything to make it is "off the shelf". Only problem I can see is having the money to do it. Wonder if it fits through the drive-through? |

well if you think about it most dogs are afraid of the vacuum, imagine seeing that. i know my dog hates the little bombardier sidewalk plows with a passion. if you can read japaneese here is the site it is real and people tell us we have too much time on our hands. http://www.sakakibara-kikai.co.jp/products/other/LW.htm |

Now that I see how it walks, it shows how simple they made it. The machine doesn't actually "walk" it just shuffles across the ground on a very flat surface. I bet that if you put a 3/4" rock in its "shuffle" path, you could stop it. Give me about $10,000-15,000, and a lot of time and I could build you the same thing, or probably something much better. Its just a metal frame with a dozen hyraulic cyclinders and a lot of sheet metal. Would have been cool if it was like the real mechs For a better experience, buy an xbox, and the steel batallion setup for it. Will cost you a hell of a lot less than what they made, and will be a lot more fun. I have it, and its a blast. |
