here is a shop guide for cleaning a pin. it is very easy to follow, dont remember where i got it but I put it in a pdf format for myself. this is great if you are new to the hobby so here it is i share with everyone.
It seem to be missing the very much needed 'replace pinballs with new ones'. An old pitted scratched pinball acts as sandpaper on the playfield. New mirror-glazed pinballs are approx. $2.00 US ea. plus shipping/taxes.
Also missing the important checks for safety: - AC wiring - plug has proper & connected ground prong - all ground wires properly connected inside cabinet/head - and all fuses in head, boards, cabinet & under playfield (where used) have proper ratings!
Also, prices shown are for US residents and do not reflect the conversion, shipping/handling and the brokerage (if UPS), plus GST/PST we need to pay extra at the border Believe me, parts cost a lot more than what is shown here!
Cheers, - Sylvain
Looking for 1966 Bally Capersville, 1967 Bally The Wiggler, 1981 Stern Viper, 1986 Pinstar Gamatron, 1986 Williams Grand Lizard, 1991 Williams Bride of Pinbot, and a few others. Cash or some trades available. Could also repair a machine of yours +/-$ if needed, in exchange for one machine on my want list, non-working/unshopped welcome!
very true it was created in 2002 lots of info missing but as a start it isnt too bad. hoping for the Canadian end of things sites and people like us will help out to fill in the blanks or modify the one I posted. here is another have the word document for this i think it was by Tim Arnold as i where I icked up the text I am not sure. have it in word so if somone would like to modify it for a candain version i will gladly give it to anyone who asks.
I haven't had a real chance to look at it but I notice that you lump goof off and goo gone together for mylar removal. Isn't goof off too strong? It will remove the paint. Well at least I have removed paint from converted videogames with it.
Also, what is the deal with these mirror-glazed balls? Seems like snake oil to me.
miror glaze pinballs are snake oil to me new balls in polisher + 8 hours. so here is a word version of the same document lets work together and make a nice Canadian version of this, with the appropriate modifications and additions. I did not write this i can take no claims or do I know of its origin. but we can make it our own with proper info.

Another Inane post brought to you by the good people of ACME Corp... Purveyors of the all-purpose Thread Killer.
I know that you would never be able to tell by my 'Helter Skelter' type posts but I do spend a great deal of time at work writing assembly instructions. And I am quite good at it if I do say so myself...well sometimes I need help with my spelling. So if you need someone to do the grunt work of compiling and typing I could help if you want. Heck I'll even use spell check!
Besides, if I was working on your shop guide, I'm sure that I would be too busy to post my usual off topic crap. Thus saving Bandwidth and everyones time.
