In which case people with deposits might have cause for concern. Ahe is posting on RGP that he is losing money, he may be setting up for a bankruptcy.

Hope not.

FRom what i gathered when i looked into it, he is pretty slimy.

That being said, rebuilding ANY dead company, or product is full of bad debts, false starts and ususally lots of unhappy investors.... On the Motorycles side,  it took a LOOOONG time to come out with the new "Indian" motorcycle Company, having more than a few people claim to own the rights, making mock ups for shows, courting investors and dissapearing. many many people, lost many many millions of dollars trying to build the company (whether it was their plan to really do the work or not is debatable)

maybe his aim was true, but i dunno.

as bitter sweet as it is, I have to grit my teeth and offer sympathy. I don't like seeing anyone get screwed, no matter how much of a grinch they are.. especially after being screwed myself around this time last year.

Also my thoughts....

He's also not refunding the money as freely as he used to, apparently.

Any proof of this?
I link or something?
Just curious....

I thought you were a big fan of Wayne's, Claude. Do you still think the MM and CC remakes will get done?

Just ramblings from RGP.. I can't be bothered as they may or may not be true.. and since I don't have any of my own money invested, I really couldn't care less.

How long did it take to get your own refund back?  The complaints have been fairly recent (within the last few months, since the refund debacle in the UK happened)

If you put aside the MM/CC debacle Wayne has been a mixed blessing.

He has produced a fair number of parts, although I do find parts to be exceedingly expensive. $175 for a piece of plastic you would pay $15 if it were in the shape of a garden gnome vice a gold eagle. I understand price vs volume but really how many people want a garden gnome and is >10X the price for lower volume really justified?

On the other hand he has failed to negotiate licenses with many who produced parts and basic killed the supply line elsewhere. Electing to send out boilerplate C&D letters vice attempting to commence negotiations. To me this shows him to have no tact when it comes to negotiation which would be good for business and good for the collectors.

In the end his approach to the pinball community pretty much leaves something to be desired.

I think the RGP post is bogus...

Wayne is certainly not the sharpest tool in the shed,
... but he's not THAT dumb .

Assuming for a moment that he would be stupid enough to buy a container of pins,
surely he would have known the negative feedback he'd generate on RGP.

I think somebody is pulling a prank...

Everything I've read about Wayne leads me to believe he's a class-A jerk,
and this would indeed be sweet Karma....,   but I don't buy it...

It is his nick, so RGP would have to been hacked to use it. Wayne has posted in the past that he has fixed up games for customers which leads me to believe he isn't limited to manufacturing parts and could be buying games to fix up and re-sell. He would be in an opportune position to do so with his inventory and connections to parts.

It's possible it's bogus, but it is equally possible he got burned, threatened the seller to post on RGP that he was wronged and then was compelled to follow through with his threat, regardless of the negativity that would surely follow.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but anyone can post as anybody with usenet. It's like email. It's all too easy to fake a source address/name.
