I was expecting to get 120$US for my complete set of Berzerk boards. They were working in my Stern The-End cab when the monitor crapped out. I was just tired of it at that point and just re-gutted the cab. Posted up the boards, manual and marquee... and then noticed some battery leakage. I removed the battery and posted on the auction what I saw (you know me... Mr.Integrity...). At that point I tought 120$ was fair enough and I would be happy with that..

Final total:  280$US!!!!

... and I have tons more boards to put up... but I doubt any will get that high. Not even half that. But it does clear up space...

Retiring soon...

The vid market is dead, but the board market lives on...

I recently sold a Halley's Comet board with a small graphics glitch (which was noted in the listing) on ebay for $100. Considering this is a non-popular, non-jamma board, I figured I'd get $20 max. I suppose it didn't hurt that there was an article about the game in the Lost Arcade Classics section of GameRoom Magazine a couple of months before, but I still never would have figured it would fetch that much.

I also puchased a nice Dynamo HS-5 cut corner for my new mame machine a few months ago at the Starburst auction. It was working well and equipped with Tekken Tag Tournament. The unit cost me a grand total of $175 after tax and I figured I could sell off the board, marquee and instruction cards and make $30 or $40 on them. Well, blow me down, the set goes for over $100 and covered more than half the cost of my nice new mame cab.

Yeah I had the same a few years ago where I bought a conversion kit for a Capcom Bowling.  Kept the trackball, re-listed the board+marquee+instructions+jamma harness and recoverd about 90% of my cost so in the end I paid something like 5-10$ for a working trackball + trackball harness.
