You may know from my posting in the classified that I have decided to trade my TAF for 6 months to PinsRfun.  He has given me a choice of 3 machines to trade for - JP, WH20, STTNG.

Just wondering what you would do if you had these choices.  I, myself, am leaning toward STTNG.  I have not played that machine much and it seems to be a popular title.  I very much enjoy whitewater as well and think it might be a better (easier) game to complete.  

Of course, being very much a pinball wizard I like a game that is fun and challenges me.  I have come so close to finishing TSPP but that is one I must admit that I just can not beat (YET!)

Thanks for you opinions.  We meet tomorrow morning to finalize the trade.

With the choice that you have,it's not a question,go all the way with STTNG

I'll rule out JP on spec because I prefer Williams but it's fun too. Do you like light hearted games with fun shots or more of deep strategic game?

i.e. WH2O vs STTNG. For me WH2O is more fun to flip around with; STTNG is deeper but can be frustrating as well IMHO.

I don't think people give Wh20 enough credit, that game has great depth, the Vacation Jackopt in my eyes is much harder to achive then the Final Frontier.  While ST:TNG can be kinda samey game after game, Wh20 always has a ton of variety, yes you are just shooting the same shots to advance the rafts towards wet willy but the shots change every game, you never go threw the same ramps each time to advance so it adds quite a bit of variety.  Toss in some really fun modes, like Big Foot hot foot, 5x the fun and Whirlpool multiball and you really have a winner of a game.

But don't get me wrong I love ST:TNG as well, but if I had to choose between one or the other, Wh20 would be my choice, I find the game allot more fun to play.

I would take WH2O...be easier to move too

I'd go with ST:TNG. Love the game. As long as you don't memorize the video mode...cough...cough...Vengence...it's a great game. Super challenging, but doable. Not the impossible wizard mode like some games. You will find yourself completing the wizard mode more than other games, for example TZ, but the wizard mode is so well done it's worth it. You are rewarded for actually completing the modes which was a first, I believe, back in the day. Plus you can have a great game and get your a$$ handed to you on the next.

Nothing wrong with White Water and I think it's a great second choice.

I think JP is too much like TAF to be a good trade. Look at the layout. They are very similar.

After going through it a few times, and playing other deeper and harder games WH20 gets boring.
But it use to be one of my favorite.

I must admit that this post is changing my mind with my instinct to go with ST:TNG.  Not sure if I made this clear but the trade is probably only going to be for 6 months.  Unless we extend it afterwards.  So having a game that could be frustrating or same after same does not sound as enticing as a game offering variety and challenge.

I have little experience with either game.  JP is the only one i have played alot before and I honestly do not think that one is in the running at all.  I guess I will just have to make my final decision when I play them all tomorrow.  Hopefully Pinsrfun will be patient with me as I make my decision

STTNG would be my first choice, I own it and it is a great game.

I wouldn't say there is no love. I liked the game. You've seen me at your place. I play your WH2O far more than STTNG.

You only play Wh20 because it is much less Evil then all my other games, I haven't yet ripped open the outlanes all the way yet on Wh20

ST:TNG with wide open Outlanes = EVIL!!   I like Evil

sttng i would say.  have played all three of these machines alot and really think sttng would be more then enough fun for 6months.

STTNG all the way. I could never get into WH20 (kind of like CFTBL). However, it comes down to personal choice.

Well everything went smoothly and I now have a STTNG in place of my TAF for the next 6 months.  Seems to be many more targets/shots on STTNG compared to WH20 - can't wait to figure them all out!

Yep, I haven't plugged in TAF yet.  I'm leaning towards tearing it apart first.  l just can't play it when it's so dirty screaming for a shop job.
