Very cool! Big Guns is definitely a game I want.. I've decided that I'm a total Sys11 freak, myself. They're like Pokémon.. gotta catch 'em all!
(I can't believe I just referenced that stupid, stupid franchise..)
Yeah. With the exception of maybe a couple of Sys 11 most are pretty good bang for the buck and they tend to lend themselves to that kind of thinking. As Duane stated they are all pretty varied. Even though they aren't super deep if one had the room for them you would have a lot of variety out of a nice collection of them.
Now that you mention it I am going to add Diner back to my list of wanted.
I know this is going to start a flurry of ridiculous responses but I will say it anyway, WTF
I don't know what it is but every Sys 11 has a smell to it. It's not a stink but it's a Sys 11 smell. I am not about to have a seizure, trust me, but am I the only one that senses that?

Maybe it's you?
I mean that can only smell it...not insinuating thta you smell
I like playing them in other people's collections, but I get bored of them quick.
Banzai, Earthsaker, WW, BG, all fun to play games, but to own for me is tough. I hope it will still be in one piece for next week would love to give it a shot.

I will keep it whole till then.
As long as the scoring is balanced these games tend to be good competititon games IMHO.
There are no wizard challenges per se on a Sys 11 but to do well the ball has to stay in play and you need to know the scoring system. I challenge you to get to 9X multiplier on this game. Not that the concept is hard, it's the execution. In many ways I would think Sys 11 would be a more fair game to compete on than some of the newer games. There isn't any illusive rules buried in the game that will reward disproportionately. In most of these games it's a matter of sticking to the rules and keeping the ball in play, which to me makes a very good platform for competition.

Lol, so wrong
These games usually make terrible competition games because they have a cumulative jackpots. Big Guns is the perfect example, during the multiball saving the queen awards an acumulating jackpot that is held over from game to game, so while once person may get a jacpot of 9 million after it has built, the same oppertunity isn't avaliable for another player until the jackpot builds up again. It makes for some very uneven scoring in a tournament setting and also leads to people sitting and waiting to play the machine once the jackpot has reached a sufficent value.
I know taxi is the same way, I think diner is as well, I can't remeber all the games that have cumulative jackpots but I know that quite a few from this era did.
Oh wait. Is what I am hearing is that you may play a game without saving the queen?
Sounds like a personal problem.
You said the scoring was balanced, all I was pointing out was it's not
If anything it's more unbalanced then most modern games as everyone gets the exact same scoring oppertunites in them, regardless of how lucrative one mode may be over the other.

Yep, you are the only one. I've had several Sys. 11s. Never found a unique smell in them.

Ok so it's not balanced if a whole lot of people who don't know how to play, play in succession.... but this is worse than getting raped by STTNG video mode how? lol.
