I'm having a minor issue with my ST:TNG game.  Sometimes, when a ball is shot into the Neutral Zone, it registers as if it went into the top hole, eithering locking the ball or giving Video Mode.  I have done some searching on this at RGP and found only one person who had this exact problem, and of course there were no definitive responses. I've gone to the Switch test and no matter how many times I manually hit those 3 NZ switches I never get a "double switch". I should mention the ball has to hit the switch and fall into the hole, for this glitch to occur.  It doesn't happen eveytime, more often than not, it doesn't happen. I've cleaned the top hole opto, resoldered the connections and made sure it was as tight as possible, but still it does it and it's driving me nuts!   Is it possible to trigger the top hole opto, if the ball is hit hard enough into the NZ hole and deflects up the subway ramp? I noticed the opto is not that far from the NZ hole.   Was wondering if anyone out there may have had this problem before and what they did to remedy it.

Thanks

Vic

I have this problem too.  I wonder if the drop target at the top there could be the problem.

Pinsrfun, it's definitely a glitch in the game.  If you strike the ball hard enough it will hit the neutral zone targets and deflect up the ramp enough to trigger the opto and if it has enough steam, it will trigger it twice, lighting the lock on the pass up the subway trough and then locking it, when it passes back down the trough.  It was really bothering me so I watched everytime the ball hit the target and noticed it would deflect up sometimes, so that's the problem.  If you could make some sort of one way flap in the trough, that would work, but I don't think it's worth the trouble, unless you have to take out the subway for other reasons, then I would probably do it.   Hope that helps.
