There are quicker cars for the buck for sure, but if it can't be a Challenger with a Hemi might as well get all the technology. Kinda like an Apple car (said sarcastically).

I always joked that hard-core Apple fanatics drive VW's

I am considering a Prius when my lease comes up in a year. It actually averages 5L/100km which is 1/2 my V6 Accord's consumption.

But the kicker here is I can get it with everything I have in the Accord PLUS a technologhy package that has more gizmos than you can shake a stick at. Yes, I agree the self parking feature is kinda dumb. But the distance sensing cruise control makes a lot of sense and the solar panel in the sunroof keeps the car cool when it is off. That is impressive.

My older brother has one of these (Prius), actually it is his second one (the first one got destroyed in an accident on the 401 between Brockville and Kingston). What a well thought out vehicle and so called intelligent car, everyone should buy one of these and at least pretend to be responsible for shits' sake.

I still have a manual 4 cylinder Honda Accord which I am having serious trouble letting go of, it actually has the right to vote, and is of legal age to drink beer in Quebec. It has over 440,000 KMs and when I start it in the morning and take it to work, it still sounds like the day I bought it, and is still so much fun to drive. Scary, built in Japan and just freakin' amazing. I have a Pontiac as well ( that has just reached puberty), and I am just waiting for it to die at the planned 250,000 KM mark which is quickly approaching. I am trying to make sure that I am close to home when it decides to croak suddenly, or when the crankshaft comes out of the engine, or some main gasket gives out, or some other crazy mess happens. Oh well, next one is a Prius for sure.

I always tried to be green, and like most people, sometimes I get fed up and feel it is a crock of mess to even try. But the damn trouble with saying "to hell with it all" always ends up looking you in the face eventually. It is not about us anymore when we try to take care not to mess up a possible future, (even though I remain black and blue from trying to be green) I know I have to keep trying no matter what a-holes I confront. I always tell myself - Some people know what time it is, and some people just don't.

It's late so good night.

Oh wow, that brings back memories of growing up in Elmira..

RAB's right though.. I know buying foreign isn't the best for our economy, but the Japanese really know how to make a long-lasting vehicle.
