Anyone here ever use one of these?

Curious to hear if it actually works for small items/spots.

I could find anything either, it took me some time just to find that.  I'm not sure how new they are, but I saw them at Canadian Tire yesterday on clearance, probably not a good sign.  But for $20 I was thinking about it....there were two options, just the gun and some aggregate was $20 (I think), then there was a kit for $30 that had a dome, about 10inch diameter that you could cover things with.  Supposedly it works with a vacuum.

They sell them at Canadian Tire.  It's a poor man's solution to not having a place to do largish items and recover the sand. Or it can be used by hobbiests to etch glass I beleive.   A sand blast cabinet is a better choice IMHO (you still need an air compressor and a well filtered shop vac for it to be efficient.  Keep in mind that ANY blasting media dust (and the dust from the items you're blasting is noxious to say the least - only the most expensive cabinets can actual contain all the dust).

If you want my opinion, it is crap.  I wonder how much pressure you can get out of a vacuum cleaner?  I say invest your $30 in sand paper!  However, if you decide to go for it let us know, who knows maybe it is good....

Oh, I have no illusions that it isn't crap, just the level of crappiness I was wondering about.

I may pick it up for shiggles.  The benefit would be for some hard to reach areas, even if it works a bit, if it doesn't, that's what ebay is for....
