This sounds like a great opportunity for those who want a bit more knowledge of the 'black box' inside arcade machines. If someone could take this training and apply it to repairing machines I imagine it would pay for itself tenfold.
I would love to do this but it's the busiest time of year at work until the middle of April and we're not allowed to take vacation. I work with electronics everyday using scopes, meters and analyizers, but my arcade pcb repair knowledge is limited.

Looks like there may be a few spots that will go unused As a result, I may give a few spots up for free to " at risk youth", as it is in keeping with the initial spirit of this whole museum project( to give them an outlet, and a hobby, and an alternative), and one of the reasons I started this whole boondoggle, or exciting venture. If you know anyone who may fit the bill, and can vouch for them, please PM me, as I want a full load of people there, and i would prefer to give it to some young persons deserving of this, who may one day look back and appreciate this as a turning point in their life. You and I all know the benefit derived from this hobby, the friends made, and the satisfaction and confidence building that could mean so much to someone who really needs it, not most of us who just look at it as a another notch on the belt of achievements, or something else to discuss at the water cooler or on this board Anyhow, please let me know of any people you think may qualify for this
Ps for anyone who wants to know, my hobby before this was firearms, an equally expensive undertaking. Curse the powers that be for closing down my club( Stoufville) and eventually causing me to turn in my license. Oh well..at least it led me here.Pinball is going to become an olympic sport someday, right?
To offset some of the lost cost, would Randy be willing to sell/donate his DVD instructional package once he arrives here. I am interested in learning what he has to teach, but it's a time issue for me(not enough of it). I've been looking at buying the package deal that is offered on his website, but know I'm going to get hosed on shipping/broker fees.
If you were able to set up a DVD/arcade package at a reasonable price, I would be interested.
that is a distinct possibility, as i am getting manuals printed off as we speak, and have access to the DVD's. I will personally talk to him next week and see about getting a limited " licensed " version for that. Especially after his "fee". Thanks for the suggestion, will keep you updated Gerald
First and second day have been great. Its a good group of folks, Randy is a hoot, and its great breaking some of Geralds machines after class. Overall its been well worth the investment.
