It might be a problem with your leaf switch not being adjusted correctly.

My guess is broken coil winding, bad EOS or bad / dirty flipper switch.

it was neither the coils or the switches, it was the coil stop. they were not worn or damaged but changing them with others (from space invaders machine, same size but made in copper?) completely solved the problem. it is a mistery.
