Saw this on RGP. Is anyone going? Rochester Gameroom Show on April 10th - 11th. They are not charging an admission fee to get in. Also the venue will be the Marketplace Mall.

No freaking way, worst show ever! Not wasting my time with Rochester ever again.
I'm going to Pinball at the Zoo the weekend after. |

Adam, is it WAY better than Rochester? Like, is it worth the EXTRA 6 hours of driving? thanks for the info. tartagliag |

I haven't been to PATZ in a few years, but I would say that they are similar in size. Adam is only going for the Tournament aspect, so if you don't care about that, stick with Rochester. |

I've never been to the 'ZOO", but I will validate Adam's claim that the Rochester show sucks. Went there 2 years ago and even though I was new to the hobby and very excitable, I felt that it was not worth the 3 hour drive. It kinda blew. I'd say, its about 30% as interesting as Allentown.

It's not an extra 6 hours for me, it's an extra 3. Personally yes, I wouldn't bother going again, the tournament was the worst tournament I've ever been too. There weren't very many games in the free play area and the ones around weren't in great shape and there was only 1 parts vendor and that was it pretty much. I've never been to the Zoo but I know the guy running it and I know it will be run better then the one at Rochester so I know it's worth the extra 3 hours to get there. |

P3 is the worst tournament ever run, no one in the competitive pinball community has a good thing to say about P3 that I've talked to. Andy Rosa is running the tournament at PATZ, Andy is a competitive player like me and knows what it takes to run a good tournament. |

Compared to Niagara Falls? I ask as this is the only show I've been to as of yet and it was pretty small. I wouldnt drive all the way to Rochester for that. |

Niagara was tiny, but close enough that is was fine and the tournament was run well so I was happy about that.
Rochester is bigger the Niagara but really not by much. More games for sure, but I'd say the number of vendors was comparable |

At Niagara there was: -A guy selling neon signs -2 artists from CPR with a few small playfield plastic protectors and coin slot plastics and a display of 2 or 3 playfields -Cointaker -A guy selling a module to convert a touchscrees to a jukebox Not a heck of a lot of vendors if you are looking for pinball parts IMHO |

for parts you are 100% better off going to Allentown ... I think there were more vendors at Allentown than at Expo (or at least it was really close two years ago .. that being said Pinball Life isn't at either show but they do a big one day sale during Expo at their location about 40 mins west of Expo) |

Thanks Adam, for your description. The issue I have is that it is 6 more hours for me... tartagliag |
