Hey folks, This is not Pinball related in any way, but it has to do with Montreal so I figgure its Ok. Anyways, Ive decided to make a Youppi mascot costume. Does anyone know how/where I can get plans or a pattern for it? Or, better yet, does anyone know where I could buy one allready made? Thanks, Greg
I wonder if there could be any licence or right-of-use against copying things like this... For personal entertainment is probably OK, but showing-up in public with such outfit might cause issues ?
(I am no lawyer, just posting so that a check for these things can be done before any potential expensive surprizes).
Cheers, - Sylvain.
Looking for 1966 Bally Capersville, 1967 Bally The Wiggler, 1981 Stern Viper, 1986 Pinstar Gamatron, 1986 Williams Grand Lizard, 1991 Williams Bride of Pinbot, and a few others. Cash or some trades available. Could also repair a machine of yours +/-$ if needed, in exchange for one machine on my want list, non-working/unshopped welcome!

Hey Greg, check out Audrey's Costume House on Cyrville rd, even if they don't have Youppi, they might have the body, and you can get a "head" made. Or they will know where you can get a custom made one, or probably know where to find one....either way, a good place to start.
That's where I bought my licenced "Freddy,Nightmare on Elm St" sweater that I wear on weekdays, and their staff is always really nice.
I personally recommend putting it on and heading to Parliament Hill to tell them you've defected from the stadium and are looking to make a new start in Ottawa if there are any positions available for someone who is outgoing and bilingual !

It be cheaper to purchase an A-list Williams title. Good luck in finding any deep shag fake fur (that doesn't fall apart) for under $45 a yard. The original costume was 20K back in 78. (but i'm shure that included the design fee from henson puppetteering..)
OT:: Youpi was a welcome relief from that mutant space ball the Expo's unveiled in 76 for the Olympic Stadium. Any body else old enough to remember ASTRO?
How bad could it be really? For halloween I was Ronald McDonald and they never came and "got me" for it. Besides, lets say I did find a Youppi costume for sale somewhere and wore it, how could I get in trouble if I didnt make it? just a few thoughts.....
