Has anyone dealt with MPamusements in the US? Goo/bad? I’m looking at buying a machine from them, however I’m leery after reading the issues buying from the states.
Has anyone dealt with them? Can anyone give me tips on the safest way to perform these sort of transactions? I know cash on delivery is the best, however they state they need a 50% deposit before they shop it, and they will deliver it themselves to me for a fee.
Let me know, and thanks!

I've never dealt with them, but I have to ask...why bother? I looked at their pinball prices and you should be able to find a game locally for less. A good place to start is to post a wanted ad on MAACA.
Personally I am very leery of buying sight unseen. If at all possible, better to see the game and then make a decision.
I hear ya, but I've posted, and I've looked. I got lucky with my addams and f14, which I love to death, but anything that even slightly interests me that comes up is gone quick. I don't have the years of experience in knowing where to search for these things, or getting them at good prices to fix up. So that is why I'm looking to this place...
Do you want to sell me some?
With the dollar so close, I'm finding they can actually be cheaper than some MAACA posted sales, which I thougth were fair to begin with. It's being able to trust them. I wasn't sure if there is a way to reverse and credit card transaction if they don't follow through, or what.

TZ has been up with nothing for a couple weeks. No one seems to be giving that up.
I'm not saying he doesn't know what he means of course, that's why I'm asking. I just haven't been able to find anyone selling anything.
I get the feeling that posting wanted pins places you in the position of having to pay more, rather than waiting for someone wanting to sell. Again, I don't know, as I haven't been successful with anything yet.

I would follow the other advice and look within MAACA. MP came to Allentown every year except this past year. Maybe they have changed (altho I doubt it) but overall their games were the same thing. For example, they would touch up the cabs well so from casual look the cab looked nice but on closer inspection the touchups were not great ie masking off was inconsistent. The main thing tho is mechanically their work was so so. The games always were breaking down and they would jury fix them to keep them going to sell. I am sure it was standard practice for them so would worry that the game you buy will not be fixed properly to keep working consistently. As I said tho - maybe they've changed but been in business quite awhile so I doubt it.
hmm, well this is the type of info I'm looking for and why I posted...
I don't know where else to find a TZ though, and there are a lot of people waiting to snatch one up once it posts.
What do they typically go for on here, or otherwise?
Medvet - I wish I couls spare the $60,000 for your MM Thanks for letting me finish my game.

It took me about 1.5 years to get a TZ. But during that time I probably bought about 10 other machines. Don't limit your options, there are a lot of really good games. You can always trade/sell later.
Prices dont go up for WTB ads unless someone sees the ad, doesnt really want to sell, but would go through the inconvenience of selling and then maybe buying again for a certain amount of money.
I bet you could easily compile a list of at least 10 machines you would like to own. And don't be fooled into thinking the "A" listers are the only good games out there either. Don't get me wrong, they're all pretty good but there are a lot of other titles that are very undervalued by comparison. There are many factors that determine the market for a particular title.
I have only seen one guy here that paid the price people were willing to give up titles they didnt really want to sell for. That's fine, but you sound budget conscious compared to that guy who really didnt care (and that's good too).
I know, I have been waiting, I just have the itch to get another. I have been reading like crazy on repairs, and doing some of the things to my addams that needed to be done, working up to doing a full PF switch. I want to have another machine to play in the interim of completed the switch.
I really want a TZ though.
I appreciate everyone's help.

In spite of Warren's poor taste in games (BSD and DW ), his advice is sound. You could always get something now to keep the urge at bay and continue looking. I have seen a few TZs pop up occasionally.
Also, it would be a good idea to get to know the collectors in your area. Start going to any get togethers, etc. or host a evening and invite local collectors to attend. Getting to know folks really helps in this hobby. Alot of games trade privately off MAACA. Alot of the higher end games sell without a post. I sold my AFM and CV -- some time ago -- with two PMs to members that had expressed an interest in the games before I decided to sell them.
