It's kinda hard to explain, but its seems like my flippers are not fully "extended" and when they hit the ball, the ball does not make it to the upper playfield....It's like if they hit the switch half way or too early....

Hope it makes sense????

thanks

This page discusses flipper problems in Williams of that era:

http://www.pinrepair.com/sys37/index3.htm#flip

It sounds like your EOS switch is closing too soon. It should remain open until the end of the flipper stroke.

Is this a mechanical issue, or electrical ?

With the power off, lift the playfield, and move the flippers by hand.
Check how far they move, and how easy they are to move.
Make sure all the screws are present, esp for the coil brackets and coil stops.
Check that the coil sleeves are not melted inside. Check that the coils
are properly aligned (if missing a screw, I have seen that the plunger
might bind in the coil, limiting the movement).

Electrically: Make sure that the EOS switch opens just before reaching the
max of their flip arc (at the top of their extension). The EOS switch is the larger
contact (and not the smaller contact that closes at flipper extension, used for
lane change).

Make sure that the plungers and coil stops, plus flipper pawl and bushings
are the proper parts.

Edit: Also make sure that the flipper coils are the proper ones and wired correctly.

Bonne chance !
- Sylvain.
