I would like to know what people think about those 3 machines.
Embryon: I only saw a video of it, I played with a fathom today and its a fantastic game, embryon seems to me to kind of like fathon for the fun of playing
seawich: is as good as fathom, if so I would buy the one for sell, but I never played a seawich.
flash gordon, well how does it stand aside an embrion or a seawich
My preference, in order of fun for those three machines. I have owned a few of those over the years (still have one Flash Gordon and one Embryon projects as keepers).
#1 Flash Gordon. Great two-level, excellent sounds/speech. Fun 15-sec timer. Nice in-line drops. Great artwork. Fun strobe too. Most fun of the three. Fairly easy to find, high production numbers.
#2 Embryon. Difficult to reach multi-ball, good sounds/speech. I like the PF artwork. Unique Flip-Save. Usually fairly difficult to find, low production number.
#3 Seawitch. Very fast game, cool sound. But no speech and no multiball. One-level. OK artwork. Had one, fixed and sold it a few years ago. Not a bad game, but was not a keeper for me.
Cheers, - Sylvain.
Looking for 1966 Bally Capersville, 1967 Bally The Wiggler, 1981 Stern Viper, 1986 Pinstar Gamatron, 1986 Williams Grand Lizard, 1991 Williams Bride of Pinbot, and a few others. Cash or some trades available. Could also repair a machine of yours +/-$ if needed, in exchange for one machine on my want list, non-working/unshopped welcome!
Flash Gordon! Altho I'm biased since I own one and have never seen or played the others. I'm still not quite into older games (pre sys 11) but really enjoy the FG. The upper playfield is fun and the inline drops are a hard shot to do consistently.
And of course, the backglass is one of the few that a female collector can enjoy
Firstly, I have never player a REAL seawitch or FG, but I personally restored from about a 15% condition an Embryon.
This was a GREAT adventure, since almost all the parts are still available, in addition many of the custom parts (i.e. popper caps, drop targets, etc) are being re-produced in quanitity - so they were rather cheap considering.)
I have to replace entire drop target mech's, which were easy to find as the same mech's were also used on PacMan and Space Invaders (plus I'm sure more)
So basically, with Embryon you know the parts are easily found. I also installed blue LED's below the playfield where it spells out Embryon. This made the look of teh game 100% better.
_________
As for game play
The game does play slow compared to newer SS & DMD games, but with the wide body playfiled, there are lots of areas to plan in on teh playfield. many different strategies to employ to reach your score. I liked the heart beat sound (like you were in a womb).... and the speach is superb even compared to todays pins.
The look of the machine is awesome with very unique art.

Not playing the other two I can't compare, but I can say that I still miss my Embryon, and wish I hadn't let it go.
In my opinion, Embryon 1st, nice sounds, nice multiballs to get, great artwork, great playfield, i'm always ready to play because of the nice multiball challenge. 2st Flash Gordon, great sounds, great artwork, cool second level playfield 3rd Seawitch, great stern sounds, ok playfield, ok artwork
