Hi all ,

I was wondering what should i do with my mame cab....

here's the story

I had a non working cab that was sitting there last year ,.
I had a pc that was sitting there doing nothing + an X arcade i had already
so i said Ahh im gonna do a mame cab i have all the parts.....

So i started removing all the cab's part.

So the X arcade didn't fit (had to cut the 2 sides of the cab with a saw.... + i had to find a peice of wood to make a table like to hold it...

Drilled 2 bolts each side of cab to hold that peice of wood...

but the bad thing was i had to cut the side of the cab to use the flipper button on the side....
But it can be pulled each time i play a game such as street fighter it moves....
+ the x arcade is a Ok ps2 controller..........But christ not near an arcade quality panel.

So now im stuck with this

what should i do to make a good Control panel on this cab.... should i just forget it & buy an other empty cab? or it's possible?

Seb,

Depends how much time you want to invest. If I was you, here's what I would do:

Pull your Monitor and bezel to keep for a replacement cab
Turn the pictured cab into your console holder, and slap a large TV in it and your consoles
Go to the gamestore you shop the most at, and know the guy behind the counter.
Ask him to save you a giant Ps2 sticker or game sticker that they were going to throw out anyway, leave him your phone number, and start patching your cab.

By the time you're done patching, painting and cutting a few pieces to fill up your control panel "gap", the gamestore guy will probably have a sticker or decal available.

Sell the Xarcade, and pick up an Ipac, set of roms, some wiring, solder, and an iron.

by this time, a NICE empty cab will come along that you'll want to Mame and you'll already have your monitor and bezel.

Apply your stickers to your console cab, throw some speakers in it, and start Maming your newly aquired empty cab, while listening to your favorite tunes.

When you're done, you'll finally have all the console heaven in one cab, and realistic arcade action in the other.

Hmmm thats a Pretty good idea

If i learned something , with cab , Never try to do something fast , the result will be a desaster

Take your time , think it over don't ever do it the final product will be amazing,

Need better pictures of the cab.  I modelled my mame cab in 3d before building it.  I'd like to offer my services, but I've been working 55-60 hours a week lately.

Anyhow.  better pictures would help glean suggestions and you're right,  Be patient.
