Jim's been working hard to get all those machines ready (and to clear out the space). I wish I had time to take advantage of my proximity to gain a "preview" - but every time I visit his basement I get that unnerving feeling that I really need to get going on my own project load! I am thinking it ain't gonna happen for 10 years or so when I can "semi" retire....
I will be donating some Pinball Is Not Dead Dot Com "Professional PinDusters" to the prize pool, for those who were curious....
Wow. The playoffs were a lot of fun. The food was good as well. That was a lot of pinball. I made sure that I played every single machine. I'm still dizzy.
Big thanks to Jim and ToPL!

I have to echo everyone thoughts about a really well run tournament! It was nice to meet all of the topl folks many of whom are here at MAACA.
When I walked down into the basement and turned the corner I thought I died and went to pinball heaven. What a lineup indeed. Many of these pins I have only heard about online, read about in a book, etc... I never thought that I would ever get the chance to play a pin that I see being sold in the states for uber money $$$ on kijiji or pinball classifieds.
I now see why they are fantabulous machines. They were clean, they were fast, sometimes really fast, more loops than I could have imagined. I think that when I go to sleep tonight I will dream of pop bumpers. I love the artwork. After 7+ hours of straight pinball, I am sure that I will need to see a specialist for my impending carpal tunnel syndrome.
I like the cool trophies too. Of course I looked at the names on the trophies and would you believe I got paired up with one of the previous champions. He is a super guy and his name was all over that trophy, maybe 5 nameplates, sigh. I got my a$& handed to me on a platter. I learned today that these guys take their pinball very seriously and they are good! Time to raise my game to another level if I want to compete with the big boys!

Actually, rumour has it that you played every machine except one....it's a shame too...'cuz the one machine you didn't play is apparently the best one in the world !!! Oh well.
And while Jim might have a "decent" set of games, it's not always about quantity. I for one, was saddened that Jim had not come to fully realize and appreciate the intrinsic value of the early Bally SS pins. An Eight Ball, Embryon or even a Vector would have certainly taken his collection to the next level !
On a more serious note, it was an awesome way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
