Well just wanted to point out that i got a very smooth transaction with Mayfair, New York.
Got my NOS Rose plunger assembly today, very well packaged, and labeled as commercial sample (value 0$). No duty or taxes to pay on delivery.
He has been answering all my questions quickly and patiently before the transaction and even sent me a pic of the item on my request...
To me, a perfect seller. Will definitely do business with him again in the future.
The only one downside i can see, is the fact that he would only take a money order... no big deal but would have been easier if he had some other kind of paypal/credit card possibilities. Really just a minor thing. |

I bought an NOS backglass off of them last year. Very good transaction, backglass was mint for being 25+ years old. Also very easy to deal with. |

Yep, I agree they are good, reliable, pretty fast, good communication. They certainly know how to properly and safely package backglasses!
I bought two BGs from them and a ramp in different transactions. All arrived safely.
Note: Not cheap after US to cdn conversion, shipping and taxes at the border, however good quality parts & service .

Some facts:
- Alouette here in Montreal once sold them about 500 backglasses.
- The US-->CDN is so cheap these days, really. Years ago I was buying parts and needed $1.65 CDN for $1 US. Now that (and the taxes across border on that) was expensive....

That’s great; I also ordered the Rose plunger & nos sticker set from Mayfair last week. Hopefully it will arrive soon. Steve did accept paypal from me but he did charge me 3% extra, not a big deal money orders cost money also. How is your axl hole? Mine was pretty worn so I bought a cliffy protector. looks great fit perfect. Not my gnr but here is a pic of one. |

Mine is worn as well, my Cliffy protector is sitting on the desk, as soon as i get some time to clean it up i will install it. It will also cover a stupid fix operator made because the AXL plastic was broken... cant believe how dumb this was. He added a post and screwed the broken plastic between 2 other plexi pieces WTF ! To do that he had to REMOVE the axl light socket because it was in the way... I did a quick fix the other day, removed the extra pole and reinstalled a light socket + red condom on it With the protector on the holes wont show, i will also make a home repro of the 2 plastic that will look a bit better eventually but for now its ok. The rose plunger looks amazing |

I'd be interested in the prices paid for the items mentioned above.
GNR rose plunger, GNR cliffy protector, NOS 25 yr. old backglass etc. Especially the NOS backglasses.

My nice NOS 'Jungle Queen' backglass purchased from Mayfair last year: $200 US plus $40 US shipping. Plus $16 Paypal fee if I recall. And another $40 cdn for cdn taxes at the border.
Restoring machines is not cheap when major components are missing or need replacement. But it is a lot of fun to revive machines to their former glory!

I bought an NOS Williams Lucky 7 backglass from them. The price was somewhere around $175 + shipping costs. Not cheap...but the backglass is mint. The existing backglass was complete crap. |

GNR cliffy protector $40.00 U.S.
Plunger was 39$ + 10$ shipping for me... not sure why we got different prices. Cliffy includes shipping in his prices so the protector was 40$ as well and had no duty/taxes to pay on either of these items. |

I kinda figured that the NOS backglasses were pricy, especially with shipping (from the US) and taxes based on what I have seen in the past, but in some cases it may be your only option. I just saw my opportunity to find out first hand as I have not purchased any where shipping was involved. More often than not its almost impossible to find the one you want locally. Ouch! Come to think of it those Ciffy Protectors are a bit pricy as well, there's got to be a better price than that out there. Thanks all for your responses! |

Yes the Ciffy Protectors are a bit pricy but they fit like a glove and save a lot of work trying to fix a hole. To me it was worth every penny. Check out all the Protectors at ciffys site: http://www.passionforpinball.com/protectors.htmT |

That's a great link for purchasing and understanding what games cliffy protectors can be used in. Thanks, Tanman |
