Agreed. Not crazily high, but a bit on the high side, especially when the conditions are unknown.

Bally and Stern machines are the most fun to work on (and tend to be the easiest to diagnose) in my experience.

Williams and Gottlieb machines are a bit more difficult to work on, but not terribly so.

I'd avoid the Atari machine like the plague.

Of your list, I'd be most interested in the Magic and the Hot Hand. The Black Sheep Squadron could be interesting too.

I wonder if the Time Warp still has banana flippers?

We really need to have a good idea of the actual cosmetical conditions of each machine
(backglass, playfield, plastics & cabinet) first, before we can constructively comment on the prices.
If poor conditions, then yes the asking prices may be a bit on the high side.

Then, it is a matter of finding the conditions of the electronics, any hacks, missing parts, etc.

Can you repair a chosen machine yourself including boards, connectors, etc. ?
If you need to send everything out for repairs, then the final cost invested in the machine
will most likely exceed the book value of most of these games...

On the other hand, if you are experienced in pinball machine and board troubleshooting/repairs,
and if cosmetics are good with the machine complete, then it is a different case...

Good luck !

Cheers,
- Sylvain.

Looking for 1966 Bally Capersville, 1967 Bally The Wiggler, 1981 Stern Viper, 1986 Pinstar Gamatron,

Cash or some trades available. Could also repair a machine of yours +/-$ if needed, in exchange for
one machine on my want list, non-working/unshopped welcome!

These sound like GJD's machines.  If so, you can be sure he's telling the truth with 'working' or 'project.'  Ask for more details, he'll be upfront.
