I'm getting hooked on EM's but still need something extra to keep my interest and after playing a 4 Million BC alot have realized that I quite like zipper flippers (why I bought my Medusa also). I'm heading to Allentown and have done an IPDB and RGP search for best zipper flipper games so I want MAACA opinions who have actually played these games.
Here's the list for opinions in no specific order: Wiggler Dogies Joust (the EM version!) 4 million BC Nip It Fireball Capersville Surfers
I have to admit that 4 Million BC is my first choice but I have that one on loan. Joust seems cool artwork and neat bagatelle toy (plus I love Medieval themes). I know Nip It is popular from a $ view but RGP seem to say it's a one trick pony and art doesn't really appeal to me. So....opinions - most fun to play, neat features ie multiball, skillshot etc. I want to be able to narrow down my search abit in Allentown so appreciate any thoughts on these games especially playing fun level. Also if you know of any other EM zipper flipper games LMK. I think this list is Bally only.
My first pinball was a 1968 Williams Daffie, back in 1981 or so. Time flies! ...One of the rare Williams EM with zipper flippers (as its sister Doozie). Fairly fun, one drop target, but no multiball and only 1-player.
You probably would enjoy a Nip-It (it has gators and the gator gate extra button), a 4-player, multiball with the famous Bally zipper-flippers. Apparently used on the old TV show Happy Days (I used to watch the show, but can't remember the exact machines they used).
Four Million BC is a lot of fun too, and again some (prehistoric) animal theme! Fireball is great to play too, the skill shot and the spinner disk add to the game.
These early Bally multiball zipper-flipper EMs are very complex machines... But always fun to troubleshoot & fix.
Good luck ! - Sylvain.
Looking for 1966 Bally Capersville, 1967 Bally The Wiggler, 1981 Stern Viper, 1986 Pinstar Gamatron, 1986 Williams Grand Lizard, 1991 Williams Bride of Pinbot, and a few others. Cash or some trades available. Could also repair a machine of yours +/-$ if needed, in exchange for one machine on my want list, non-working/unshopped welcome!

You do realize that is a long term loan right?
I spent alot of time looking at zipper flipper games (via ipd) and really liked the look and features of Joust. I was seriously thinking of looking for one of those some day.
Just spent 1/2 hour playing it tonight. Don't know what it is exactly but that game draws me in almost as much as MM and more than the other games in my gameroom. Figure that one out!

PS Don't even try the BSM for 4 Million trade tho !

I just noticed you have Wiggler and Capersville in your list of looking for. What is it about them that you like so much? And have you ever played or seen a Joust or is trying to find one of them as hard as the Holy grail? Only seen one mentioned on RGP in the last 5-6 year search.
