Check out their flyer here: http://www.mcm-catalogs.com/2618_WJC9/t1.asp Soldering stuff can be found on page 18, here: http://www.mcm-catalogs.com/2618_WJC9/full.asp?page=18Click on the "order #" to add to cart. Sale ends at midnight on Saturday, January 30th. And don't forget to grab a one-handed desoldering pump. I adore mine: http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/TENMA-21-8235-/21-8235Their shipping charge to Canada for packages under 50 lbs is usually $10. You can't beat that. Side note: I ordered a bunch of stuff from MCM a couple of months ago. My order totalled $37 and I paid $10 for shipping. I laughed heartily when I received my package and noticed the postage stamp for $27 on it, but it gets better... Among the things I ordered was a replacement tip for my old soldering iron, but it wasn't in the package when I got it. I thought nothing of it since it was only a small $2 item and I ordered it as a 'just in case' sort of thing anyway. A few weeks later, I received an e-mail notice saying that the solding iron tip had been backordred, but it was now in stock and would be shipped immediately. The following week, I received a rather large box from MCM with a $22 postage stamp on it. Inside the large box was a bunch of those air pillows and a very small box. Inside the small box was a small plastic package with my new soldering iron tip. This thing is literally smaller than a small drill bit and could easily have fit into a standard envelope without any issue whatsoever. In conclusion, on a $37 order, I paid $10 for shipping. The actual amount that MCM spent on shipping my items was $49. I say order your stuff while they're still in business, because with business practices like these they won't be in business for very long. |

What tips would you recommend for 'larger' jobs, like coil lugs? I have a great tip for small chip work, but want to start using it instead of my crap weller iron for things like coils.
If you do any work at all, get that Tenma station on for 39.99 - it's awesome. Will make all PCB work SOOOO much easier for you. |

For working under the playfield, I bought this: http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/TENMA-21-7945-/21-7945It's smallish and portable and you don't have to haul your bigger station out from the workbench when you need to get under a playfield. It's ultra cheap and does surprisingly well. As for tips, I use the chisel point tip for bigger jobs like coil lugs. It provides a larger heating surface and cuts through big old gobs of solder on coil lugs in no time. |

Thanks for posting these deals again!
Question - why would I want the $39.99 over the $24.99 version? The only difference listed is Ultra-slim comfort handle and "repair in school, production, ..." |

If you're doing a fair amount of work with it, the Ultra-slim handle is worth the extra $$. (and it's easier to maneuver when you're working under a PF) D |

You can call them and ask what the shipping price will be, but you can bet it will be very reasonable. |
