I have replaced the majority of the inserts bulbs in my CV with leds.  Though it was a little expensive, the difference is incredible.  I will take a couple of pics and post them in the next couple of days.

ok thanks Malibu !!

I have recieved my order and his LEDS seem to be ok.........the yellows could be a little brighter but other than that a good deal.He has ultra bright white and they are bright.
I have done most of my TOM  inserts and it makes a big difference

I have his email address if anyone wants to order direct from him instead of through Epay

A listing of my current games can be found in the Gameroom section(Updated June 20,2010)

A friend showed me how to make the bulbs......although it is time consuming.....it isnt that expensive

Can you describe the basic steps?  What's the idea, a bare socket, a resitor and the led - and then some plastic epoxy of something to cement in the LED?   Just guessing, no clue really.

I receive my new led for my lethal weapon, and its make an amazing difference . The white, the blue and the green make an huge difference, but for the red the orange and the yellow i dont see a big improvement. The only problem i got is that my new 9 led #89 flasher dont work in my lethal weapon?

First ...shave the top of the LED flat......solder one .100 header pin to one leg of LED........solder resistor to other leg of LED.......solder another .100 header pin to resistor.I use a bare socket....and all I do is squeeze the ends tighter and install LED

Here is a pic without the socket

The LEDS I bought off of Epay(sure electronics) and the resistors were ordered from Great plains electronics I believe

I know nothing of LED's. Is that particular resistor used regardless of LED type?

I want to try to make a few of my own, it looks easy.

This would be a WICKED "write up/how to" to have here on the forum!!

Essentially LEDs are rated to carry forward a maximum voltage, it varies depending on the spectrum and intensity of the LED.  That voltage is regulated for the LED by the limiting resistor.  Knowing the specs of the LED to be used and the forward DC voltage, you can calculate the resistor required using this online calculator: http://led.linear1.org/1led.wiz

I am in process negotiating for the North American distribution rights to new manufacturer of very well developed LEDs for use in many circumstances, but I have been keeping the news to myself because the deal isn't done yet, and I have to admit that it was contingent upon launching my sales web site (which keeps getting stalled).  If any news develops in this arena, MAACA will be the first to know.
