I think IPDB has a significant influence on selling prices. So, a few really low scores can pull a machine down the rank. On the other hand it is possible that a few people might log ratings under different names and help boost a rank if it suits their purpose. I alway laugh when people on Craigslist or Kijiji say "rated 7.9/10 on IPDB, see link:"

Best way to rate a machine: Play it!


With TOPL, MPL, Allentown, White Rose, Expo, etc etc you can decide for yourself which games are really good.

When new, I heard CV was discounted like WOF. The price I heard in 1997 was $2700. Who would have known.

It's all personal taste. CV IMHO is one of the greatest games out there. Personally after all of the stuff I played TZ still remains number 1 with me and people tend to avoid it during competition like the plague.

To each thier own. All I know is from the games I have had there are certain ones I go back to more often than others without any real thought about why other than I just want to play the game. CV is one of them that gets a lot of play.

Main thing is throw the list in the trash and buy what you think your going to like. Maybe the list has some influence on what others would pay for a title but if your buying at fair prices who cares what the list says.
