Nice!! But have you learned nothing from me JD? Bidding way before an auction ends is out of the question and brings the price up for nothing. Here is how it's done............It's called Sniping, you open 2 pages, one that is focused on the auction and the other is set up and ready to bid with your utmost maximum bid. When I say ready to bid I mean ready to press the "Confirm Bid" button, not the "Continue" button and then you literally wait till the last 15 or 10 secconds (maybe even less if you have a good connection to the net) and press the button. Of all the auctions I have bid on I have only lost one because the other bidder was willing to pay more than me for the same item. Judge the item well and figure out it's value. This has always given me the upper hand. The problem with biding early is that you end up fighting for it and this drives the price up for nothing. The only problem with sniping is you have to be there when it ends but I know some people use applications to bid for them at the last sec. Have a look here http://www.versiontracker.com/.....cosx&x=0&y=0 Why are MAACA members fighting over an ebay item by the way? |

there was no fight there at all, it was close to my maximum bid and if it went over i wasnt planning on going any higher at the time (sorry Jim). besides it isnt like i buy alot of stuff from ebay anyways, look at my history pretty sad. was a total fluke! |

Congrats to JD and a to Macphreak!! I don't think any MAACA members were bidding against each other..it looked like there was only one other guy at the end and I have no idea who he is...no question its a great price, and its the risk I took putting it up with no reserve..FYI I paid $1200 USD for it plus shipping and I thought I GOT A GOOD DEAL!!! Macphreak is right from a bidders side that to get the best price its best to wait till the end, but I have to say from a sellers point of view its EXTREMELY frustrating and nerve wracking. The bottom line right now is that the resale market is DEAD, and its not just a time of year thing..I keep in touch with lots of sellers all over the States and Canada and they're all feeling the same thing...I think we have yet to see the bottom...maybe the IJ's and TZ's etc.. will hold up for a while, but the rest is crashing down hard. |

Congrats JD. I played the pin at Jim's place and it plays great. Jim takes great care of the machines he has and also does a lot of work fixing them up. I also feel bad for Jim as he lost money on it. I hope the rest of your auctions go well Jim Sadly pins are starting to follow what happened to vids about 2-3 years ago. It has been said by a lot of people that it was inevitable that the pin market would start to slow down, then begin to crash like that of vids. Will be a buyers market. Naturally good for buyers but bad for sellers. A lot of places will either go out of business or just put the pins away in storage and wait for a recovery as many have done with vids. I guess time will tell. BZM |
