This is one of the most impressive animations I have seen in a while.  I hope that they've won or will win a prize.  But I am wondering if this is any chance that it is not really painting live but a photoshop/premiere overlay on top of the video....

Vids: Crystal Castles, Gauntlet/Gauntlet II, Donkey Kong Jr., Ms. Pac-Man, Vs. Super Mario Bros. (other Vids in storage - for now)

Indeed, a very astonishing bit of animation....

... almost too incredible to be believed.

Then again, if you look at the Sunlight and shadows,
it would seem impossible to duplicate that with photoshop.

Looks like the real deal to me....  and that would be incredible...

Absolutely incredible post video work (I was in the biz), they are not re-painting "live" wall art (apparently my guess was absolutely wrong - see below).  What's brilliant about it is that the artist kind of artificially produced a stop animation effect video (must have been well scripted) that enhances the whole effect (making it easier to accomplish a realistic effect) and then engineered and overlayed the graphic art one frame at a time, likely using electronic tools like photoshop or ?

These days, with still cameras like a nice Nikon and lots of storage, you can produce stop animation video like this by clicking one digital photograph at a time and then using readily available video tools to assemble the individual images into an animation.  Gone are the days when the prohibitive cost of animation was an expensive motion picture film camera that had to be engineered to be able to advance exactly one frame at a time.

I stand corrected, my bad, sorry folks.  My own expertise (or should I say inexpertise) in the area got ahead of me (I have been out of it now for about 11 years). Facinating: http://www.blublu.org/

I can't fathom the amount of prep work required... and the paintings themselves, needed to get this done.  Wow.
